We had the good fortune of connecting with Coolie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Coolie, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from the Bronx New York born and raised but my parents are from Kingston Jamaica, suh yuh know seh mi have likkle island vibes in ah mi. My background and upbringing taught me backbone, strength, resilience, and maturity. Being from the Caribbean you learn how to do for yourself from young, for example cook, clean, wash clothes. These life lessons impacted my lifestyle amazingly because I was taught independence. Never to rely on anyone once there’s a will there’s a way. I’ve taken these lessons and applied them to my everyday life as well as career and that’s why I cannot be stopped. Greatness awaits!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an actress and model but most of all I am a walking brand, that’s what sets me apart from others. There is nothing I can’t do. You give me the task and I am getting the job done, that’s just how I am. I am mostly excited about my growth. I’ve been acting for a long time but it’s been a year and two months since I’ve decided to put my self out there for the world to see. What I’ve accomplished in a year is amazing and it proves that anything is possible when you put your mind to it.
I am still not where I want to be career wise, however where I’m at right now took a lot of courage, discipline and money lol. I had to lock in mentally and tell my self this is what I want and I’m going to chase my dreams no matter what it takes. It was not easy and it still isn’t easy. There’s times when I want to give up and call it quits because I didn’t get a role I auditioned for or I’m feeling discouraged because I see others getting opportunities I’m praying for but with the right support team, affirmations, and prayer I am able to stay focus and know that my time is coming.
Lessons I’ve learned along the way is that timing is everything, when it’s my time I will know. Also god doesn’t give you more than you can handle. I’m right where I’m suppose to be at the moment.
The world better get scared because I’m coming! I’m coming to all TV screens, movie theater screens, red carpets, all the above!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
You could never go wrong visiting the city lol. The city is the most beautiful when it’s Christmas time, however I would definitely take my friends to Time Square to site see. We would also do the Statue of Liberty boat tour I think as tourist this should be on your to do list when visiting the city. We would eat at Hard Rock Cafe, there burgers are amazing. For cool drinks and appetizers I would take my friend to 1,2,3 burger. There is so much to do in the city I can go on for days.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Mr.Gary for sure. Mr.Gary is my acting coach and has been for over a year now. His school “Next Stop Ny” is located in Fairfield CT. Mr. Gary really pushes me to be better at my craft. He’s taught me how to be patient when climbing the ladder in this industry. Most all he taught me to take risk when it comes to my craft and never play it safe. I love my acting coach he’s the best!
