We had the good fortune of connecting with Connor Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Connor, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by all the people around me that I call Friends Family and My Brothers. Everyone in my circle is doing great things successfully and with that success is where my inspiration comes from to never stop and continue to reach the top.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a musician in Atlanta which is nothing special. I owe my success and accomplishments to the people I have met along the way who gave me an opportunity to expand my musical gift. I am now the music director for The City Band which has allowed me to travel all across the US and do what I love. It was not easy, I’ve had to overcome stage freight and a lot of doubts in my own ability at times through practice and more practice. I’ve learned along the way that when an opportunity presents itself that is tailormade for you, you have to tell yourself “Its now, or never”. I want the world to know that it is still ok to pursue and do what you love. The reward will always be great as long as you stay dedicated to it and never lose your drive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would easily take anyone to Whisky Mistress on a Saturday, the live music and Dj is amazing and the food is good and who doesn’t love good food and music? Sunday would be church and then go to Le Petit March for Brunch Monday would be Suite Lounge in Atlanta for their Monday happy hours and Karaoke Tuesday would be Cirque Atlanta for Unlimited drinks for $10. Wednesday would be Perimeter mall for shopping and then go to Buffalo Wow Wings to try their unlimited wings Wednesday for all of their 30+ wing flavors. Thursday would be Helen GA to go hiking to for adventure Friday would be Painted Pins Atlanta the ultimate fun spot in Atlanta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to personally shoutout Georgia Gwinnett College(GGC), The City Band and The Griffin Law Firm. Through GGC, I met life long friends and brothers who I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. The City Band was an Idea my brother Marcus Free and I came up with to start a corporate band. Through the help of business mogul Jerome Derrickson, founding Member of Zapp Band, We made that idea a reality. I am currently the Music Director of The City Band which has given me an opportunity for leadership, growth and musical creativeness. The Griffin Law Firm gave me an opportunity to become a paralegal and gain vas knowledge of the legal world and the opportunity to one day become a great lawyer.
