We had the good fortune of connecting with Connected Camping and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Connected, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Connected Camping organically started in the summer of 2020 as just a small group of friends that wanted to get away from the noise in the midst of a social distancing pandemic. We took it upon ourselves to find clarity through connection. We found a place of intimacy where we could shamelessly express ourselves and our true nature, in nature.
Realizing we had something unique and special to the city of Atlanta, we decided to come back month after month, growing the community each time. Fast forward to us now gearing up for year 4!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Unlike other events in Atlanta, we provide a chance to experience what it feels like to really be with yourself away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. There’s no expectation to show up a certain way or to explain what it is you “do”. We emphasize this is a space to discover who you are naturally instead.
Through activities like our connected games, our plant based dinner, The Full Moon Talent show, and transformational breathwork, we are building and servicing community in a whole new holistic way.
Fortunately, we’ve had a lot of grace and poise in our growth over the last 4 years. But we have had our challenges along the way, but a lesson that stands out for us would be how valuable patience is within growth of a business and experience. We’ve always done our best to stay grounded in our approach, even when the demand for us to do more was loud, or things maybe weren’t going as we saw planned. Answers came through resilience. We recognized that as long as we communicated through the challenges instead of focusing on the frustration, everything seems to fall into place.
A takeaway we’d love to share with the world is for others to know that so much more is possible when you do it together, rather than alone. We could have never imagined being where we are today, on that very first camp. But through commitment to a greater cause, we’re creating the most heartfelt camping experience in Atlanta.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s only right that we give a shout out to the actual campers of this community that show up so effortlessly. As they continue to evolve and grow, so does our organization. The community is what really makes this experience so different each time and we couldn’t be more grateful that we’re able to hold such a one of a kind experience in Atlanta for them.
In addition, Brook’s Lake in Conyers, GA makes this all possible! We have to give a big shoutout to the beautiful lakeside camping ground where we’re able to host this experience. It’s the perfect hidden gem, not too far from the city, but just enough for campers to decompress.
