We had the good fortune of connecting with Cody Dallas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cody, what do you want your legacy to be?
Even if it’s just a few people, I want to leave behind a legacy that inspires others to become the best versions of themselves that they can be. Through my actions during my time on this planet, I hope others can look at me and think “He sets a really good example” and not just through my creative work, but also through the way I live my life and how I treat others. If you strive to be a better version of yourself, obviously you’ll have a better life, but at the same time, you can also do more for others. So I just hope that someday someone can look at my life and be inspired to grow.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a digital photographer that specializes in street photography. I also do plenty of portraits and automotive photography as well. In my work, I tend to aim for vibrant colors, low lights, and sharp details. Most of my photos were taken before sunrise, so through my pictures, I capture the moods of riding around Charleston at night. What I do to set myself apart from others is that I try to find the art in places most wouldn’t think to find art at.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t really go out too much, but when I do, my boys and I would usually hit up the Sportsbook bar. It’s a chill atmosphere with plenty of good food and pretty good cocktails as well. Plus, we always have a pretty good time when we go there. But one of my favorite places to eat at is Lana’s Thai. There was a time I used to go there every Wednesday after work to pick up either their seafood or beef pho, and I’m pretty sure they recognize me by now. I consider them a hidden gem if you’re in the mood for something different.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my entire support web consisting of my family, friends, and fellow creatives I’ve connected with along the way. People like my siblings Anthony Green, and Simone Dallas and my parents have always been there for me whenever I needed a boost. I definitely have to shout out my cousin Lynn Washington as well; he’s helped me gain more clients as well as getting me new equipment to help my photography business grow, and I just want him to know it means the world to me. Much love to people like Aaron Nelson (Mors Calumnia), Max Harrison (MK1238 Media), R. Dotta, Raven Green (New Moon Visuals), Cam Wright, my mentee Teasia Bryan (Media Maze), Marlon Howard and the Kicknosis crew, my boys Marc, Josh, Eric, Rhyse (Madcap Gaming), and so many more for the likes, shares, and overall support they’ve given me. I couldn’t have gotten this far without y’all and I want to just thank everyone for their contributions to my growth as a creative.
