We had the good fortune of connecting with Coby Ficklin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Coby, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?

This is one of the biggest questions in life, whether to keep going or give up. How do you know what you are doing right now will help you in the future if you cannot see it. I”ll give you a little secret on why you should keep going. FAITH. The assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. You make a commitment to yourself and have faith in trusting God that all your dreams and goals can be achieved. Because without him faith or the idea to keep going it is impossible so you must believe with all your heart and he rewards those who seek him.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I consider my pictures and my YouTube channel art. In photography you are able to catch some of the most amazing moments life has to offer and will forever have that picture. On my portfolio website my slogan is “take a picture it will last longer”. I can definitely say it has not been easy so far but it never get easier, you just become stronger. Seeing me now from where I started makes me even more excited because this is just the beginning. I have learned a lot about in and outs of photography, but what I am most proud of is how I carry myself. I want the world to know you are already everything you want to be you just have to believe it. We are faced with different obstacles and challenges everyday but we still find a way to make it happen, and that is what my brand and story is all about, supporting those who are making it happen.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

If I was given the chance to show my best friend around the area, I would show her my favorites things and how I escape the world. I would take her to two trails I know. One is called East Palisades and the other is Sweet-Water Park. Why, because it shows how small you are in a big world we  live in. Next, I would take her to some of my favorite food spots. Firehouse subs, Jinya ramen bar, and the best wing spot in town, Hattie B’s hot chicken. Then we would go to the movies because I love watching a good film. Next on the list would be going to a concert of our favorite artist. We would end it off with my being outside either at a lake or beach with a blanket and music playing enjoying the view, letting your imagination run wild.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

My mom, my mom is literally my everything. I am the man today because of her. She has raised 3 great looking men by herself, working full-time, always providing for us and never complains. You asked earlier how do you know whether to keep going or give up, how can I give up when I see my mother working so hard everyday just to provide for us. It would almost be a slap in the face. She supports me and love me with every decision I make and that is important to have someone like that in your corner. So shoutout to you mom!
