We had the good fortune of connecting with Clay Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Clay, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
After many attempts to “follow the trends” in digital design and still struggling to find clients, I realized that being true to myself and staying authentic was far more fulfilling. Trying to conform to what I thought others expected or what was currently popular became exhausting and unsatisfying. Embracing my originality had a positive effect on the clients I attracted, making it easier to collaborate with like-minded individuals who were genuinely looking to elevate their businesses with my creative direction in mind.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
No successful business venture comes easily. I often face challenges such as lack of sleep, overpriced resources, and time management. However, through practice and perseverance, I’ve learned to manage my business effectively and separate my personal endeavors from my professional ethics. My work provides the opportunity to learn and implement various marketing strategies that can lead to financial growth and increased visibility for businesses worldwide. I’ve always enjoyed the idea of collaborating with a diverse range of businesses and exploring different industries. With dedication and effort, I envision a future where my design agency is highly respected and frequently engaged with major corporations and esteemed organizations alike.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I do manage to carve out some time for myself, I love heading over to Caribana Island Grille for their famous Surf & Turf Burger. It’s my go-to indulgence. And on those days when I’m in full cheat-mode, you’ll find me at Jumpin’ Jones Barbecue grabbing two rib plates—one for me, and one for everyone else at home. But let’s be clear, I’m not sharing my plate, so don’t even ask! lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge my older brother, Adrian Jones, who introduced me to the world of digital arts as a kid and has always been a valuable guide through every challenge I faced. I also want to thank my closest friends who encouraged me to launch the Blue Chip brand and stay committed to my craft, especially when my initial business ventures didn’t go as planned. And I can’t forget to mention the numerous family members who were willing to set time aside to confer with me and lend me their constructive criticisms really challenged me to push beyond what I thought was possible. Without their supportive words and candid feedback, my design agency might still be in its early stages—or worse, nonexistent.
