Meet Claudine Hicks | Certified Freedom Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Claudine Hicks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Claudine, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
I have quite a few favorite quotes but today I choose one by Audrey Lorde, and it says, “If I didn’t define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people’s fantasies of me and eaten alive.”

This quote means and speaks so much to me because I remember as a teenager I lived for other people’s opinions of me. I lived for the validation of people. Back then it was important to me to know what others thought of me. It was to the point where I thought dressing and acting like someone else would make people recognize me. I thought it was normal to allow someone else to tell me who I was or was not.

It’s a beautiful thing when you take the mask off and get FREE. That is why I love this quote. You’ve got to be true to who you are, know who you are and love the things that makes you unique.  That’s when you will start walking in freedom.

What should our readers know about your business?

I am a Certified Freedom Coach and the owner of Au·then·ti· ꓘal·ly You Coaching. My goal is to help Christian women break free from other people’s opinion about them, comparison and insecurity so that they can value and celebrate their unique, authentic selves and know their identity in Christ.

What sets me apart from others is that I am aware that this is my Kingdom Assignment and I am not designed to serve everyone. The ones that are sent to me for help, recognize that I have something that they need, to get free. I am a strong believer that I can’t help someone get free if I haven’t been where they are. Isaiah 58:12, a Restorer Of The Breach, is my charge and being a Freedom Coach is part of my destiny. As mentioned above, now that I am no longer held in prison of my past, I can help someone else see the light as I walk them thought their Freedom journey. It is their destiny to be Free!

I am where I am today because of my trust in Jesus, prayer, family, and friends that support me one hundred percent. Even on days when I can’t see the light. Let me say, it’s not always an easy thing. I have a few favored scriptures and quotes that I run to, especially in times when the vision for my life doesn’t line up with what is happening in my life. My saying is, If what I see, is not what I saw then it’s time to go back to God for the blueprint of the vision He gave me.  The favorite scripture is Psalms 32:8, I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

These two have been my go-to on those rough days. That is how I’ve overcome challenges.

I want to encourage the world to not let go of the vision they have for their family, business, job, ministry, or whatever it is.
For me, I had to accept the assignment. I had to accept the fact that although there are many other wonderful coaches out there, the Lord has called ME to be His Kingdom Coach on the earth for His Glory. This means I had to let go of the insecurities, all negative thoughts, and self-talk along with the what-ifs. I am here to help people walk in freedom and get unstuck so that they can move into their Kingdom and Life’s purpose as I have.

That is who I am.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

This is sort of a hard question. Let’s see, ok here are a few places I would take her:

Breakfast: Copeland’s, The Corner Grille, Cracker Barrel,
Lunch: Gumbeaux’s, Cajun Cafe, Olive Garden,
Dinner: Kevin Rathbun Steak, Rreal Tacos, Rock Steady, Fin & Feathers, Louisiana Bistreaux Seafood Kitchen

Places to go and see:
Everyone that comes here has to go on the Atlanta Ferris wheel.
Atlanta Beltline and eat there.
Atlanta Indoor Skydiving, I think she would enjoy that. Oh, and we will definitely do a photo shoot in front of the Hey Brown Girl You’re Beautiful, mural.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
