Meet Claudine Clarke | Screenwriter & Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Claudine Clarke and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Claudine, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Deciding that I needed help was probably the most important decision. I was raised fairly independent and like any other person, I hesitated to identify my own flaws. So, recognizing those, and also identifying areas that I could be better, led me down the path of self improvement and healing. I went to therapy, I reached out to friends, created new healthy friendships, I read books, I watched YouTube videos and listened to podcasts. I recognized I needed help and I sought out the means to get it. And I’m proud to say that those necessary steps have made it possible for me to keep going through all the obstacles of the creative industry, through the trials of entrepreneurship, through everything.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey to here was definitely a difficult road. It started with misplaced passion and a degree in something that admittedly I still like, but was not what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. And after that, I had to contend with mental health issues that made it hard to do the creative things that I loved. So one facet of my creativity lies in resilience and even when I create something bad, I can’t help but have pride in it because I know it’s been such a long journey to this point. and I still have a lot further to go because I use creativity as my motivation and the the goal of being creatively limitless is what keeps me creating more..

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my favorite spots would have to be Sister Louisa’s Church of the Living Room and Ping-Pong Emporium in Edgewood, definitely a vibe, a good social bar, and the decor is cool, no matter how blasphemous. I would take her to BeetleCat because we both love oysters and they have such a wide selection. I would definitely take her to Underground Atlanta, there’s so many venues and spots in there and there’s always something to do. I love the High Museum of Art for stroll. And after that, probably go to Colony Square and just to eat, hang out, and people watch.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my mum first and foremost, she’s always believed in whatever crazy thing I focus on. Shoutout to my dad for giving me the entrepreneurial spirit and for his pragmatic perspectives. I want to shout out Sean Daigre for opening my mind and giving me counsel that’s made all the difference. And Amanda for putting up with every iteration and reiteration of me.
