We had the good fortune of connecting with Clara Richardson-Olguin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Clara, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
CIC FLOORS Mission is to provide exceptional quality in our diverse flooring options and services that meet the highest standards of the flooring industry at prices people can afford. However, when we think about our call of action to put a bit into our world we think in our passion for a more environmentally conscious approach to design. We want to inspire our clients with personal attention to their projects while providing safe alternatives on organic products. Our vision is to create art on floors and see smiles in the faces of the people while we build together the platform where all memories take place as we dance, walk, and live. CIC Floors’ expertise, passion, and dependability will inspire our clients to dream of flooring possibilities that promote safe environment, beauty and quality. We offer eco-friendly products at affordable prices this way we make green more affordable for people.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As many of our clients and friends know my personal story started in the Dominican Republic. I graduate from Law school and embark on a mission to peruse my first love MUSIC moving to Atlanta. As doing music I meet my husband dancing salsa and yes we fall in love there. I have to share that when my client hired us they are getting 2 very passionate souls that love what they do because each house we walk, as we install their floors or making their kitchen remodel, is part of the story that we are writing, they are part of the salsa dance and we celebrate with our clients the magic of renewing spaces. As we run our personal lives with 4 kids and our daily commitments we dream with our client’s projects and develop a plan, looking for each detail because not each house is similar they are different and unique. We do want our clients to learn more about the foundation of their homes. The space you are remodeling is part of your sacred space, in those floors your kids play, your pets lay and you dance a good salsa! Love happened in your home and we are coming in to create more love while remodeling your space.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Funny you asked that! I spend a lot of time on the weekends with my family and my church friends, and my house, without doubt, is for me the best place to reconnect!!. A nice table with Mexican appetizers (charcuterie, taquitos, chips and salsa and ceviche) and then a delicious “Sancocho” Dominican powerful soup. Music, bohemia and a Paloma’s to drink with good tequila. Be with friends is the best. However, when we have the blessing of having visitors from overseas or from out of town we recommend “Mojitos” at the Forum, Gypsy Kitchen, or Canu Restaurant for a nice dinner. In the morning we head to the lake house to enjoy the amazing mountains of Hiawassee, beautiful Helen town. Then we close the weekend with an afternoon at the Chateau Elan Winery where the scenery and the delicious wines transport you for sure.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As an entrepreneur, I get fitted by my mentors since I was in college. There are so many people in my life that had shape who I am. Without a doubt, we are a melting pot of so many different people, moments experiences. This journey is full of experiences that really make us so unique. I would like to give a shoutout to Claudia and Cesar Hernandez from C & C Sigsn amazing Marketing Company in Norcross. Also, Sharon Cavusgil former Director of the TESOL/ESL Georgia State University Department, who guide me since I arrived at GSU. Monica Motives and her team are amazing. This past April I was able to be part of an amazing program coach by her and her team that really change my mindset in so many ways helping me and my company pivot even more. We are a small business and every challenge has to be analyzed as a learning experience and people like Monica McCoy and her team are dedicated to helping find the best in you as you recalibrate and reinvent yourself inside your business. During this pandemic, CIC FLOORS sure needed that boost of confidence, reevaluation, redesign, reinvent, and new ideas for our future.
