We had the good fortune of connecting with claire thatch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi claire, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I started my business while in nursing school, which is a beast in itself without trying to be an entrepreneur. I definitely struggled with setting aside time for myself, let alone my business. I’ve since graduated, and now that I’ve started my career I find it a bit easier to make time for my business. Some weeks are harder than others, but you really have to push yourself to get things done.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I pride myself in having my own business, as well as a career that I’m thriving in as well. Honestly, I’m still working on building my brand, and I’m learning something new about myself and the industry everyday. I work as a mother/baby nurse during the night, and real estate agent during the day. It’s hard enough to juggle two careers, and my wonky sleep schedule makes it even harder! I would not have gotten where I am today without the support of my mom- she will work alongside me on deals & give me loads of advice.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I absolutely love to try new places around the city! First things first, we would have to go to Grecian Gyro – I’ve been really into Mediterranean food lately … and they have some of the best. We would have to visit the Botanical Gardens and Aquarium of course, and go to STK- they have the BEST food! Honestly, we would probably try new restaurants together- I’ve been wanting to try RA Sushi, South City Kitchen, & Slutty Vegan.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom is my mentor! She is also a real estate agent, and has always pushed me to go the extra mile. She is my biggest supporter and teaches me something new everyday.
