Meet Cindy Woo | Print Shop Owner | Event Coordinator | Herbalist | Blogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cindy Woo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cindy, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I want to build an empire! I want to leave a legacy behind that will give my kids and future generations a chance to experience a life free from restraints. So, they are free to “BE”; become their best selves. Not only that, I want my work, my businesses, my events, my products, to really make an impact in people’s lives; and for them to know that it was done out of love, so that hopefully that love will spread.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So, WOO Printing inc. is a large format printing company. (Prints over 5ft) We specialize in anything from Banners, to Overhead signs, to Car wraps, to Billboards! I believe that it’s our “one on one” approach to customers, and the fact that you can go to one place for all your print needs that sets us apart! We are big on community, and big on service! We saw the need being that most of our clients are small business owners, and most times, are busy trying to open or upgrade their business model. So, why not assist with all that we can offer, and give them the best service.
Getting here wasn’t easy, and without certain circumstances that helped pushed me past fear, I wouldn’t be here today. I left my corporate job where we supplied and printed for print shops around the country, and went to work for one of my clients at their private owned print shop. This move with in its self was a leap of faith, so I wasn’t looking to have to make a second one!
While working at the shop, we employed an autistic designer and after he was hired, his counselor/advisor came to visit us. Because we hired him, she offered us her services. She showed us how to give each employee personality assessments, she gave us a process for onboarding and hiring, and showed us how to effortlessly run and organize the business aspect of the print shop. Her name is Ileana Starwood, and she is Founder and CEO of the Gabriel Alliance. An organization that champions itself for neurodiversity in the workplace.
Things seemed to be going well at the print shop, but long story short, the business was in prior debt, and had to sell around the holidays of 2018, and we were left completely high and dry! Soon after Covid hit….but it actually helped changed our situation, and things got better. My clients still needed prints, and refused to work with anyone else. They didn’t care if I was in an office, shop, or whatever, they simply wanted my service. So, despite everything that was going on during that time, I continued to work. I met up with our designer, Jacob and our salesguy Mike Jones every week at a local Barnes and Noble. They hung in there with me, and we continued to meet and work, and send out print jobs using a third party vendor. I had my business structure, Business incorporated, but just no building, no printer.
Then out the blue, the government began approving small businesses for Grants and Loans to recover from the Pandemic. And even though I have Never been approved for anything in my life….BOOM…I got funded! I knew exactly what I needed for my business! I moved into my new home in East Point, which was perfectly set up for an office and print shop! I got my ducks in a row, and began to reach out to Investors to help me get my own Large Format Printer. Still to this day, I’m amazed that it actually happened! Not only do I have my own large format printer, I also have a 5 foot cutter and laminator! My home was the perfect set up to have an office around back, and separate garage for the Equipment. I was able to save on overhead and also create revenue!
I’m happy to say that WOO Printing has been going strong for the last 3 years and can point out signs that we’ve done all around Atlanta! It’s an amazing thing! WOO Printing is also the proud sponsor of The Bigger Picture Atl, which hosts Sunday Funday on the westend of Atlanta’s beltline, every Sunday in conjunction with Cryptid Creatives. Our Sunday Funday market has been going strong for four years now, and is well known in the community.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d start off at the bar of “The Melting Pot”. There’s nothing like a drink and some nice cheese or chocolate fondue! Then, we can check out some art at the Woodruff Arts museum, or a gallery on Peter’s street. Hopefully there’ll be some sort of festival going on at Piedmont park, and we can stop by and get something to eat there. Then we can Turn up to any type of atmosphere on Edgewood, And we can end the night with a little Karaoke from Metro Cafe and Diner off Peachtree street downtown. Oh, and after all that we can wake up and take a nice hike on the Chattahoochee trail.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Man, it’s definitely the love and support of others that got me where I am today. One organization in particular, played a major role in helping me start over successfully and get on my feet when I was down and out. H.O.M.E., is a non profit organization whose acronym stands for “Helping Oppressed Mothers Endure.” This organization is ran by a beautiful woman I always referred to as my spiritual mom, Carolyn Watson, with the help of her husband Leotis, and her right hand that shares the same name…..Carolyn Tolbert! They help single moms start over by fully furnishing their new place. Their help and encouragement, and seeing what they did for myself and other moms was inspirational, I couldn’t let them down. And funny story is now, years later, the tables have turned and my company WOO Printing is able to bless their organization by wrapping their new delivery truck! It’s amazing to be able to pay it forward, and help someone that was so instrumental to you.
