Meet Cindy Rich | Custom Cookies and Sweets

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cindy Rich and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cindy, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
As a former teacher, I feel that the organization and communication skills I developed have helped me be successful in working with my clients and also balancing my personal life. Organization is key in running your own business. When it’s a one man show, it helps to have a process that works for you so you don’t get swept up in the details.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My cookies business is run right out of my home. The majority of the time, people come to my home to pick them up. This all started when my daughter asked me to create some cookies for her class field day. We could say that was all she wrote. I have been so fortunate to have an amazing group of family and friends. They have encouraged and supported me through it all. While it wasn’t the easiest endeavor, it has been so rewarding to see my progress from my first cookies to my most recent. I strive to give people something to smile about when they pick up their cookies. Cookies = smiles.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Woodstock/East Cherokee area has so much to offer for families. When family comes in town to visit we definitely start off with breakfast at Bizarre Coffee in Downtown Canton. Their breakfast is amazing and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming.
Lunch/Dinner can be split between either Downtown Woodstock where we hit up Canyon’s (it’s a favorite with my kids) or Pure for a fun dinner. Between the shops and restaurants you can’t go wrong.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband! I am so thankful for him and his continued support. When I decided to stay home with our son he was absolutely my champion. Then starting Rich Sweets by Cindy, he constantly encouraged me to push myself when I have doubts. I love him and I’m so thankful he’s my husband and partner.
