We had the good fortune of connecting with Ciasia Webster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ciasia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
At first, I customized clothes as a hobby and then realized I enjoyed looking apart from others. So I saw an opportunity to make my brand a business back in 2012.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
CiJe® was established as early as Jan. 2012 in Brooklyn, NY by Ciasia Webster. CiJe® stands for “Ciasia’s Illustrations are Justifiably Elite”. At first, I created garments as a hobby for myself because I disliked looking in uniform to others. After some time I was able to share my vision through my garments and now my brand is known to some. Nothing in life is easy so no it wasn’t and still isn’t easy. There’s going to be bumps in the road and those ends up to be learning experiences. Throughout my designing journey I’ve learned to keep faith, never give up and be patient because my time is coming. I want the world to know that CiJe® enjoy creating custom garments to make you look apart from others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being that I’m fairly new to Atlanta I’m still trying to find my way around the city, lol. In the case my best friend was in town I’ll take them to my favorite Thai restaurant, 26 Thai Kitchen & Bar (Buckhead), the Georgia Aquarium, High Museum of Art, the lake and a couple day & night parties. I’m pretty low key but I do know how to enjoy myself.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout all my clients/customers that been down with me from day one. They’re the reason I keep striving to be greater. If it wasn’t for them this wouldn’t even be likely. So I want to say thank you’ll again, I really appreciate each and everyone of you.
