We had the good fortune of connecting with CIARA HARRIS and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi CIARA, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Owning a business was never talked about in my immediate family, but as I started meeting more and more people at a young age that were business owners I admired their flexibility and lifestyle. Initially, there are a lot of doubts like will my business pop and will people buy into my brand, but ultimately its worth the commitment for the long term benefits. We look at how many major businesses started from garages and now are multi-billionaire status. We also need to look at growth versus overnight success. All good things are not built overnight, you’ll never be 100 percent ready.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In 2013, I came out of college with an early childhood degree and began teaching third grade. Then went and obtained a master’s degree. I feel what sets me apart from others is I feel like I can do anything, you can literally ask my friends of the type of business ideas we discuss. I’m come up with all types of stuff, they keep me focused and straight on point. If I had it my way I would have ten different businesses. I have tutored, homeschooled, been a nanny, worked as a substitute all until my business took off to support my lifestyle. Lessons that I have learned along the way are to always follow your dreams and every day of your life can be filled with happiness, whatever that looks like for you. Secondly, never ever settle. If you enjoy waking up making breakfast you and your family, going to yoga, and making your money through automation, you can do just that, but you have to create that for yourself. I would love for the world to know there are companies providing luxury for less! Come jump on the GLAM BABE train !
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to Bar Vegan in Ponce City Market, Lilly’s in Buckhead on R and B night and definitely strip club, to get some great food! For Drinks head on downtown to Escobar, Burn Lounge of any Mexican restaurant. You have to make time to make it to the Trap Museum and the walk the beltline. Atlanta is a great place to meet new people and explore.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would definitely like to Shout -Out lash technician Marci Johnson IG :LashedbyMar for being a mentor to me and taking me under her wings. Just having a person that I can consult with what-if scenarios, best practices, and best products. Secondly, I would like to give an ultimate shoutout to my sister, Bianca Spear for allowing me to turn one of her guest rooms into my personal lash suites. She was the first client, love you to the moon and back.
