We had the good fortune of connecting with Chyna Baker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chyna, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to find something that initially was fun for me to do while generating an extra form of income, but I also wanted it to incorporate making people feel good at the same time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My jewelry brand is one of unique-ness. No one piece that I make is ever duplicated. I truly want people to feel special in what they wear. To feel the love that I put behind creating each piece from hand. Natural Stone’s and Crystal’s already have their own healing properties, so when you choose my Brand, I want you to know that “it’s not just another beaded bracelet or accessory” it’s a sentimental piece.

I got to this point in my life by truly stepping out of my comfort zone, knowing that I always wanted to help people feel love and happiness no matter their circumstances.

It wasn’t easy because there were day’s when I didn’t have any customer’s and it made me feel like maybe I shouldn’t be doing this, but I learned with hard work and genuine dedication their will be someone out there who see’s your worth and will be more than willing to support!.

So I must say I am very proud of myself for never giving up, even when people didn’t believe in my vision.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To Scenic Restaurants that make good photo aesthetic’s and have nice outdoor sceneries! Where we could grab a bite to eat and drink simultaneously. Then I would love to go to places like the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s, The Aquarium, maybe Six Flag’s, and for the night scene a nice Lounge or too. Places that fit our adventurous Side.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I first came up with the idea to start my business, I instantly called my Dad and ran my plan by him. I told him what I needed, the time frame I wanted to do it and he made sure to help me right away. He did not once doubt me or tell me that I couldn’t do it. Even if he did have his doubts. He helped me from the get go. So I know without him a lot of this wouldn’t have been possible. I truly owe him a huge Thanks!.
