We had the good fortune of connecting with ChriStyle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ChriStyle, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Throughout life our experiences initiate our expressions , being artistic is definitely the main way I express myself . The ability to be witty and rhythmic ha always been amusing to me

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My artistry comes from a place of will , I’ve typically been the person that has to earn everything I have . From the right to feel like it’s ok to speak my mind , all the way up to believing what I create is to be consumed by other aspired people . What sets me apart is my appreciation for all aspects of the art . Because I was that kid who wasn’t privileged with help in the beginning I naturally investigated how much I could accomplish on my own which forced me to learn the craft from multiple aspects . I’m able to create from a variety of points of view . Writing , producing , and recording vocals are all skills that I’ve honed purely from the motivation of “If I want it done who better to do it than me?” Spending significant time practicing at my craft definitely developed where i feel my skill stands today as a professional . Like anything you have no experience in , in the beginning it is challenging . I desired to express myself through the craft of making music which eventually led to me embracing the challenges with the intent to be successful at them . I’ve learned that in art you can intend for your creations to mean one thing but the consumer will have his or her own perspective , and that is whats great about art . I want the world to know that through art my passion is to be a great who inspires greatness .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Downtown Birmingham has some nice features . The five points south area has a little bit of everything in it , you could literally start your day and end your night there . The pancake house would be perfect for breakfast and then lunch and dinner could be arranged just another block over at one of the many restaurants that reside in the area . Since music and drinking is a good blend Bar Unplugged has the esthetic to promote a successful night life . Five points south is the place to go . Shopping , eating , drinking etc. can all be found there .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to dedicate my shoutout to God first hands down . I believe that I’m blessed to be able to create from a perspective that inspires people to embrace a confidence , reality , and faith in his or her aspirations throughout life . I’d also have to credit my family and friends . They’ve helped me grow and shape the person that i am . Certain experiences from childhood up until becoming a adult have a life long effect on you . Thankfully in defining moments I’ve had the option to heed the opinions of some of my loved ones that have lived with me thus far .
