We had the good fortune of connecting with Christy Phelps and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christy, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe life itself is about taking risks. I believe taking risk is what makes or breaks your business. Risks is what helps push you ahead of the game. Everything that has been invented was by taking ricks. If you believe in yourself and your vision that’s what matters.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
First of all I believe in art/sewing there’s no right or wrong way of doing it. I started sewing because i was a young mother with limited income so wanted do something i enjoyed while making something i needed and if i could make a little income on the side even better. My brand has evolved from hard work honesty and the love of sewing. Its more than work its pure passion for the craft.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I don’t get too experience much of the area much but Huntington Beach in South Carolina is my all time get away

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like too recognize my grandmother-in-law Ramille Coleman whom is no longer here with us. She took my crafty desires and guided me through learning the basics of reading sewing patterns and techniques. She listened to my crying and frustration for days, weeks, months and years till i began to evolve into my own style of sewing. Ramille was my everything. She will always be apart of this adventure of mine.
