We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Rosene and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, what role has risk played in your life or career?
In my opinion, risk is necessary for self-discovery. The biggest risks I’ve taken whether they worked out in my favor or not, have led me to exponential growth. It should be calculated before you take it. Ask yourself if this doesn’t work out can I afford the fallout? As a man of faith in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Bible says we have the Holy Spirit and he certainly helps me determine if a risk is a good risk to take.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have two sides.

By day I’m a SaaS SDR (Sales Development Representative). I got into tech after moving to Atlanta after the discovery at 27 years old that I was adopted. I was planning on moving to focus on a rap career but the adoption issue bolstered the move even more. I’m good with people so after moving to Atlanta from the blue-collar land of NW Ohio, I wanted to learn sales. I transitioned successfully into a direct sales role where I thrived from an entry-level role to a management role in just 7 months. I then was promoted to branch manager in about 15 months. After 5 years of doing that for one of the premier home remodeling companies in the nation in Power Home Remodeling and Erie Home Solutions. I took the SV Academy tech sales boot camp and was hired by Diligent Corporation a couple of weeks after completing the Bootcamp with a 10k scholarship towards my SV Academy tuition. Currently, I’m thriving in that role, fresh out of training, and by night I’m writing songs to build a music portfolio of Christian/Gospel Hip-Hop.

A piece of advice I learned through the journey that I’d like to share is that it’s important to have principal in life. A man/woman needs to have a strong base to stand on. If you lack principle you can’t accomplish or discover your true purpose. You’ll be like a leaf that is blown whichever way the wind blows.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Most of my friends are foodies so I’d take them to a few places. Hankook Taqueria is a phenomenal hidden gem. Iron Age KBBQ is a fave of many of my friends. Piedmont Park is great for nature and exercise. We would have to spend a day on the lake at Lake Lanier on a boat! Hiking is great at Stone Mountain and is a major attraction. A few neighborhoods that have great vibes are Marietta Square, Edgewood, Downtown Decatur, and Little Five Points. Gotta go to Hattie Mae’s for BBQ. Chattahoochee Coffee Company is a beautiful spot to grab some caffeine and night walks on the belt line offer so many things to do!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First I’d like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for my development in his wisdom and my creation. I’d like to thank my dear Man of God Pastor Christ for his teachings and development. My group Pastor, Pastor Deji for his continued love, direction, and support. My mom Joyce for all her continued love and support, and my Esteemed coordinator Sister Debbie for all her love and development in the things of God.

All of those people are easily the most influential people that have helped me the most in getting as far as I have.
