We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always been involved in some kind of creative media throughout my upbringing. It never occurred to me until it was time to apply to colleges that I should pursue a career path in media. It was simple for me to choose my career path, I just needed to simply think about what my passion was in life, and follow it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Something I’ve found about being an artist is that you will always have a hunger to create, try to be different, and explore every facet of your medium. Media for example is something so broad, and if you create media you most likely want to create as much as possible. I feel as if I have so much more to do with my career in media, I’m just getting started. To get where I am today all I had to do was create. Create as much as possible and push out that work. A huge challenge in my line of work is that it never truly ends, there will always be something to shoot, edit, and create. It’s not easy giving up free time to do more work, but it’s worth it looking back on it. A lesson I’ve recently learned is to always make time for yourself. It’s easy to burn yourself out and do too much, but balance is a big part of life. Never forget to take care of your mental health. If I could let the world know one thing about my story; it’s that if you want to get involved in any facet of media, think of something creative and just do it. You never know how far you can go with it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have been very fortunate to have supportive peers within every portion of media that I’ve been involved with throughout my creative career. They have kept me motivated, given me constructive criticism when needed, and given me praise when they enjoy the content I produce. My time working with my college radio station; 90.3 WESS, gave me the chance to break down any mental barriers when it came to putting myself out there. I was able to work closely with a group of peers that supported each other’s work all the same. Currently, the most supportive people I have in my creative career are fellow concert photographers I’ve met over the years. Having a group of people that support each other in such a competitive field is an amazing feeling.
