We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher James and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christopher, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work life balance has fluctuated. When I first began pursuing the entrainment/ entrepreneurial career, I had the skill set, yet I lacked the resume and network. I would call off on Holiday weekend from jobs I had , just to street perform , background dance, Or just get a shot to be seen. Soon I understood that there was seasonal work that consisted in the entertainment realm. I would meet new people, and travel for work, soon I would apply for Gig work on off days and save money for periods of times I’m working in build my craft.
Soon I took the jump to become a full time entertainer with the 76ers through two years of auditions, since than I’ve found an even better balance with the entertainment work from the resume I’ve built with that , regular 9-5 and the network I’ve built between both sides of work , help balance my entrepreneurial and buisness owner duties with a vast network.
It takes time and as long as we can set realistic goals for our selves and stick to it , life balance as a whole will come together.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My Art Consists of Dance Music & Fashion. Art is a re reflection of my life and my environment. I create dance choreography in reference to the environment and as a form of physical expression. My Body language has Propelled me into Professional realms. My music compliments my dance expression, but also is a way for my voice to heard in a similar medium. I strive togive a Message through my music. The clothes I make allows the person wear it to express emotions through the cloth. Each outlet has challenges, problem solving is key. I’ve been doing my crafts for over 10 years and being able to adapt to times, trends, and ways to work has been key to my success.
I want the world to know that using your resources at hand for elevation is okay and to create hope for your community by being your self and do what’s right your and your passion.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Sunday to set the week right , we would go to rum punch brunch while it’s day time and bonfire Atl to finish the night, both have an open playing field great music and many people to meet and get a feel of the Atlanta culture. With that out the way , we would most likely book studio time at varsity studios and shoot some creative content at piedmont park. One day out of the week go shop , lil 5 points has some great small buisness to shop with. Check out either Lennox or Cumberland mall. I would definitely get tickets to a Braves game and show them around the park where I perform at. Afterwards hit one of the bars in the battery for the good post game vibes!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?I want to give a shoutout to a big brother and mentor of mines, Damon”Finksworth” Holly Creator of Project Postitve @dinksworth @Projectpositive for showing me how to take my talents to new heights , deliver a powerful message through action, and leadership skill for our community.
My Grandmother Auntie Mo and My Mother For Forever having my back through my ups and downs and loving me unconditionally.
I give my blessings to God for giving me talent and the skill to communicate a positive message to thousands of individuals; Successfully Kindling Our Resources Creates Hope!
Finally, all of my friends, supporters , lost ones and my family. Each is a motivation on my path.
