We had the good fortune of connecting with Christophe Chin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christophe, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
I don’t think people really realize how gritty and grueling being an entrepreneur really is, especially in the film industry. Your always dealing with self doubt and wondering “ Am I doing enough?”. I’ve also learned that relationships are more important than capital. The relationships you build along the way open doors that will keep you in business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a videographer /director and recently moved to Los Angeles, Ca. I try my best to treat every project as if it were my own personal project. The work I am most proud of is a pilot we shot called Dark Currency. It’s a project that I wrote and once we got some funding I got the chance to direct it. I’m really looking forward to getting the project picked up by a major network or even being able to get financing for my next film. I wouldn’t have even gotten the opportunity if I didn’t quit my job as a teacher back in 2018. In all honestly, I was unsure if I should step out of my comfort zone and become a full-time entrepreneur. All I knew for sure was the fact that I hated my job. So I took the leap and never looked back. This journey has taught me to believe in myself and that you have to walk the path that God has prepared for you, even if others advise against it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Friday- Were going to the rooftop at Ponce to enjoy the view and grab some lunch. Then we’re going to Avalon to hang out and eat dinner

Saturday – Were going out to the Battery to grab some drinks and watch the game. ( That’ll take the entire day)

Sunday – Were going to church, the praise and worship at Victory World Church is lowkey a concert.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
