We had the good fortune of connecting with Christine Baines and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christine, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Before becoming a business owner, I worked in the education and non-profit space as a teacher and eventually learning director. Like most people in those industries, I worked tirelessly to implement solutions and quality learning experiences. I found myself working over 50 hours a week to innovate solutions and ideas to enhance the companies I worked for. Naturally, I began to burn out. I always had the nagging thought; I wonder what would happen if I put my creative energy and talents behind my business venture. That thought coupled with the desire to establish generational wealth and to control my outcomes and earning potential led me to open Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency NE Atlanta. Twinkle Toes is the perfect culmination of my professional career, personal interest and my most important job thus far, being a mom.

What should our readers know about your business?

Twinkle Toes Nanny Agency offers the best in childcare, from babysitting to full-time nanny care. Established in 2011, Twinkles Toes originated when our founder couldn’t find a local nanny service for her own children. With years of nannying experience, she decided to start her own, concierge-style childcare agency. As a former child care provider to youth in school and out-of-school settings, I deeply realize the value of having dependable and quality child care. It is my goal to meet each family’s unique needs leaving them satisfied and looking forward to their next nanny visit.
Twinkle Toes nannies are screened far beyond industry standards and are the absolute best that Atlanta has to offer. Nannies are pre-screened, background checked, CPR certified, and reference checked. Unlike other agencies in the area, families never pay a placement fee, application fee, or membership fee. Twinkle Toes is an excellent resource for date nights, long-term care, infant night nurse, afterschool pick-up, and more!
The greatest challenge in starting Twinkle Toes was to actually start the business! Fear can stop greatness. Once I opened the doors, my excitement and anticipation propelled me to grow the business. One of my greatest lessons so far has been to trust myself. I’ve learned that my instincts and intuition will guide me. At the same time, having a team and sounding board is also needed to help make wise and thoughtful business decisions.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Piedmont Park – Maybe there’s a festival. Krog Street and the Beltline – Tons to eat, see and drink. Maybe stop by the James Room for a drink and Hugos for chargrilled oysters.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents and extended family are my north star. They immigrated to this country with practically nothing and created a full life. My faith to start a business and to create the life I imagine for myself is a result of the example I saw in my parents and those who came before them.
