We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christina, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is and has always been my support system. There has been plenty of times that I wanted to give up and there has been plenty of moments that I didn’t feel like I was good enough. The support of my mother, my agent, and my friends motivated me to keep pushing. My mother and my agent have helped me develop tuff skin and have always pushed me to work harder, be more creative, and never give up.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started modeling at the age of 12 and I started acting at the age of 14. Once I left off to go to school at Gordon State College I gave modeling and acting a break. I wanted to strictly focus on school but once I left there and transferred over to Georgia State University I found my way back into modeling. I did a couple of photoshoots on my own and I started posting my content on Instagram. Although I had known my agent since I was 13, back then she didn’t have an agency she was just a manager that managed local talent. She eventually found me again on Instagram and by then she had an established agency called “Golden Talent Agency” and wanted me to be apart of it. After working with her for a few months, I went from just doing print work to walking the runway. I had no idea how to walk in heels and I was so scared my first time but after taking a few walking classes I felt a little more confident about doing runway. After only a few months of training, I had my first runway show in New York for New York Fashion Week. I ended up being the only model in my agency that was going which had me scared. I’ll never forget going to my first casting and being turned around because of my height and at that very moment, my confidence was shot. So I went back to my room, I told my agent and my mom what happened and they pushed me to go back and try again. Of course, I didn’t want to because I thought that I would get turned around again but I didn’t. I ended up walking in the show anyway for eight-plus designers and it was an amazing experience. Over the years I walked for that same show 4 times along with another big show in New York. One huge lesson I learned during that time was to never take no for an answer, if you want something go for it no matter the challenges you may face. If it is meant to be it will be and there is nothing that can get in the way of you reaching those goals. It helped me develop tuff skin because models and actors must have that in this industry and if not you’ll be disappointed a lot. There will always be plenty of no’s and that’s okay because they’re always a a lot of yeses too.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite spots in Atlanta is “Main Event”. They have food, games, and drinks. You have the choice to either go bowling, play in the arcade, hang out at the bar order food, sit down, and eat. I also love to go hiking and one of my favorites spots to go hiking is “Cochran Mill Park”. There are about three beautiful waterfalls there and I love to sit there and listen to the water, the birds, and the trees while also mediating and charging my crystals. One other spot that I would take them to would be my favorite Mexican restaurant “Cozumel Catina”. The food is amazing, the drinks are amazing, the vibe is amazing and the service is always great.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My agent “Eshia”, my mother “Shamika”, my friends, my family, and those in my agency play a huge role in my career. They are always so supportive and have always rooted for me and my success. They give me hope and they keep me going every day. My trainer “Maurice” also plays a huge role in my career. He is not only my trainer but my mentor his favorite quote is “I don’t just train the body, I also train the mind”. If not for all of these people I would’ve gotten as far as iv got in my career. I’m very grateful for them and they are the ones responsible for me being who I am today. I am a huge believer that nothing is truly possible without the love and support from your loved ones and help from those who truly believe in you the way that you believe in yourself.
