We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Merrion and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
“Don’t worry about the pace, run your race.” Some people are going to accomplish things more quick than others, and vice versa. Once I realized that everybody’s race is going to be different, things just started to click for me. I pretty much just shifted my focus to my progress knowing that in the long run, I’ll get exactly where I need to be.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most proud of my progress; I like to see the growth in my work over the years. Which is why I said I’m running my race, and not focused on the pace. As long as I’m progressing, I’m not stressing. I’m most excited about my future. I could be wrong, but I feel like I have my foot in the door, and now I just need a seat at the table.
Prayer, and meditation has honestly helped me a lot with overcoming challenges. This definitely hasn’t been an easy road, but I never quit. Even if I took a break, it was basically to regroup because quitting was never an option.
A lesson I have learned along the way has been that delayed doesnt equal denied. Keep going.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Im an introvert to the core, so I like to stay at home mostly. I enjoy things like concerts, movies, go-karts, so something like that. I think drive in theaters are dope, and like batting cages. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, and pretty much anybody who has helped me out along the way. Even if it was a simple recommendation, or piece of advice, it all helped.
