We had the good fortune of connecting with Christie Pike & Beth Pike Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Transparency and relatability. We like to use the term “sharing our trip-ups and triumphs.” Social media doesn’t always portray life in a realistic way. It’s easy to share the time you wore that perfect outfit, achieved the ultimate workflow, hustled at the gym, then cooked that Pinterest worthy dinner. But what about the time you didn’t brush your hair and stayed in sweats all day, or cried in the bathroom at work, or skipped the gym and had wine and ice-cream for dinner? The ugly days are not as easy to share, but that’s real life. Our failures are just as important as our successes because they teach us the hard lessons, make us stronger, more resilient and make the success that much sweeter. Helping people find inspiration — even on the ugly days — is what we’re all about.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We’re the founders, creators, writers, and self-proclaimed inspiration-givers for The Bizzi Project; a dynamic sister duo fighting negativity, harsh judgment and self-doubt in the streets of Social Media. We share our real-life experiences – the good, bad, and the ugly – with the belief that it will inspire our friends to live a happier, more fulfilled life of purpose. We have decades of experience developing our brand. (Psssst! Our brand is us.) We are forever growing, learning, and evolving. Through all of life’s challenges, we want to remind our people to be the victor and not the victim, to choose happiness, and to create the life they were meant to live. We’re always working on new ways to connect with our fellow dream-chasers, and we can’t wait to share our upcoming book and podcast with everyone!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love our neck of the woods in Georgia! We’re located between two great cities – Madison and Athens. If we were to take you on a Christie and Beth kind of tour through our southern territory, it would include a stroll through historical downtown Madison. After soaking in the beauty of the antebellum homes and Town Park, we’d stop in at Amici’s for some delicious wings, pizza and an ice-cold craft beer. We’d spend several days in the melting pot of Downtown Athens. Brunch at Five, a run on The Firefly Trail, then browsing vintage vinyls at Low Yo Yo Stuff Records. We’d take you on a walk beneath the arch onto the beautiful University of Georgia campus, then on to admire the loveliness of The Georgia Museum of Art. Next, the rooftop of The Georgia Theatre for drinks and a 360° view of the city, before enjoying a live concert inside. Finally, we’d make our way to Bottle Works on Prince for a delicious dinner at Seabear Oyster Bar.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Hands-down, our shoutout goes to our people (friends & followers). They are why we do what we do. Every time we get a message telling us how we’ve inspired, motivated, encouraged or helped someone, it fuels our passion and inspires us in return. We are so grateful to be surrounded by such a loving and supportive community.
