We had the good fortune of connecting with Christie Jackson and Kirstie Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christie and Kirstie, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Our business provides opportunities for people to capture professional quality images ranging from modeling/fashion photography, family portraits, senior portraits, business/modeling headshots, newborns, events, weddings and photo booth set ups! Although these are all needed and in demand in our community our number 1 niche when it comes to Photography is BIRTHDAY SESSIONS! People use bday sessions to kick off their birthday celebration in unique and creative ways! Eventually we want to host workshops and classes to our community, we also want to rent out our studio to photographers, videographers and bloggers that need studio space.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a Photography Studio that also specialize in freelance, weddings, events, ect. Our name “Redemption” is what sets us apart because our faith in God is what helps us to be as creative and successful as we are. Also, being that we are twins we feed off of each other’s creativity, knowledge, and support . We try to set the atmosphere by providing good music and good energy to provide the very best experience our clients can get when coming into our studio. We are most proud about our connections, the quality of work we provide and the direction our business is going in. After graduating from high school we both began to pursue modeling. In 2009 Christie graduated from modeling school. Years later, we decided to start freelancing as a hobby. More and more people began to come to us, which became very challenging because we both worked plant jobs, and sometimes would have to work 12 hour shifts. We had to both step out on faith and quit our jobs. That was the scariest, but BEST decision we ever made! Shortly after, God caused our business to overflow! The lessons we’ve learned in business is to never focus more on other people business more than you’re focused on yours, always talk to God before making any important decisions and learn all you can… Continue to grow, and continue to network.

If you had a friend visiting you in the Atlanta area, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s so much to do in Atlanta! We would definitely have to visit Cumberland Mall. The Bahama Breeze’s Jerk Chicken Pasta is a must try!! We would take them to The Roof at Ponce City Market, Krog Street Tunnel if they’re down for a dope photo shoot LOL, Top Golf is a vibe and Sudos for a girls night out!! On Sunday morning a great Church would be World Changers Int.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to shout out God for giving us the wisdom and mindset to be able to reach the level we’re at in our business today. Also many influential people who has helped us in different areas along the way are Pastor Clifford Craft, Angelo Riley, Charmaine McWhorter. I(Kirstie) want to recognize my husband Marvin Johnson for his support in whatever i do.
