We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Gatlin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christian, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
The definition of success changes during different seasons of my life. In some seasons I’ve found that my success was based on a monetary goal, while in other seasons my success was based on my level of discipline for personal goals. Although “success” is innately rooted in subjectivity, the one thing that doesn’t change for me is impact. I believe we were all placed on this Earth to edify one another (Proverbs 27:17), and that has been my main measure of success professionally and personally. I’ve always been passionate about mentoring people and giving advice and decided to start my business with that as the foundation. My entrepreneurial journey, though still new, has been successful thus far because of the individuals I’ve been honored to advise, and the positive impact I’ve made helping small/emerging brands. If my professional or personal legacy leaves behind a story of positive impact and inspiration, then I’ve truly reached the pinnacle of success.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have a Marketing Consulting business that is primarily focused on helping small companies scale their business. In particular, my services are tailored toward Black women. So many times I see men dominate certain industries because they have the resources and support they need, while other marginalized groups (Black women) are left to fend for ourselves and lean on one another. That specific disparity is what fueled my desire to really lean into my passion and pour back into the most powerful and intelligent group of people – Black women in business. Ultimately, I want my brand to be known for paying it forward and being apart of helping Black women succeed in all aspects of life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a pretty big foodie and I love a nice ambiance, so I would want my friend to have a luxurious eating experience as well. First, I would definitely make sure we visit a great brunch spot, like Fellaship. I also enjoy fine dining and unique restaurants, so for dinner I would probably take my friend to Del Frisco’s, Divan or RA Sushi. All of those places also have great drinks! My friend and I would definitely be eating for the most part, but walking the Beltline is also a nice way to explore the city and have a great time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is dedicated to my team of amazing colleagues, family and friends who consistently put my name in rooms of opportunity. There are SO many, but a few that have been especially helpful are Alexandria Ikomoni, Stephanie Kumi and Chloey Mayo!
