Meet Christal Clifton | Body Sculptor & Licensed Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christal Clifton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christal, what role has risk played in your life or career?
By definition, risk is exposure to danger. However, my personal definition for risk taking is exposure to the “unknown”. I think it’s essential to step outside of my comfort zone to embrace experiences and situations that will help me to grow and will ultimately become part of my new comfort zone.
At least 30% of my professional choices have been the result of risk taking. And that doesn’t mean that I don’t plan, it means that while planning I’m willing to explore various opportunities that are unfamiliar to me. The goal is to always have positive outcomes. And even when the outcomes are not positive, I still learn from it.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’d like to first present my press release below, followed by a specific response to the lessons I’ve learned and what I’d like the world to know about my brand.

Christal Clifton Changes Bodies, Minds and Income to Launch 6-Figure Business with Body Sculpt by Chris
Atlanta, GA – It’s the perfect formula with perfect results…weight loss, good vibes and a 6-figure income! Those are the reciprocal rewards that Christal Clifton, owner of Body Sculpt by Chris, has created for the clients she serves and herself.
Through non-surgical, painless treatments, including lipo cavitation, laser lipo, skin tightening and her latest service – needleless injections, (which aids with rapid weight loss) Christal is safely assisting her clients in reshaping their bodies and redefining how they see themselves both physically and mentally with absolutely no down time. “Equally as important as beautifying the body on the outside through non-surgical body sculpting,” explains Christal, “we need to reshape our thoughts and behaviors and detoxing provides the mental clarity necessary to do that.” Her detoxification program includes herbal teas and capsules that remove harmful chemicals from the body. Christal affirms that when the program is followed properly, her clients experience permanent results.
Perhaps Christal knows about reshaping and rethinking more than most as she has had to use determination, drive and wit to overcome financial adversity before establishing herself as a contender in a field where African-Americans are exceedingly underrepresented.
She began as a licensed esthetician in the state of Georgia in 2011. And she struggled. “At the time I was doing facials and body waxing, chemical peels and brows and lashes,” explains Christal. “And for the most part, my demographic was only really interested in brows and lashes. So it was hard to advance and make a living.” Eventually Christal was derailed, applied for and received food stamps, and was forced to enter the world of Corporate America.
Since then, the African-American culture has grown and so has Christal. From 2013-2019, while working a day job, she received certification as a bartender and nursing assistant. “I had to keep food on the table and at that time my mom needed help,” Christal admits.
Christal reports receiving encouragement from a good friend who was taking a course in body sculpting to do the same. “I was hooked! I knew this was what I wanted to do!” Christal says.” It was April 2019 when Christal completed that course. “I practiced for a few months until I found an office space 4 months later in August. Then I worked my business part-time while still working in corporate.” While Christal contemplated resigning from her day job in January and then again in February, the pandemic forced her company to require employees to work remotely. Then in April of 2020, Christal was furloughed.
When Georgia reopened in June 2020, Christal hit the ground running mid-pandemic. Within 1 month she made 3 times more than she would have made in her old supervisory position. And when asked to return to work the next month, Christal declined. “I was determined to make body sculpting work…and it has for me. And now I am poised to make it work for my clients,” Christal says with confidence.
_______
The lesson that I have learned is that no matter my circumstance or anyone else’s for that matter, with hard work, strategy and absolute determination you can prevail against obstacle and even atrocity.
I want the world to know that I am genuine and my efforts to sculpt and reshape their bodies and minds is a labor of love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start by taking my friend to breakfast at a quaint restaurant in downtown Atlanta. And just before lunch we would enjoy at least 2 art exhibits, first at the HIGH and then at ZuCot Gallery or other African American galleries in the area.
Lunch at No Mas! Cantina and dinner at McCormick & Schmick’s.
Her visit would include a spoken word venue, a small live jazz and/or Chicago house music.
And finally, I would cap her visit off with a cocktail party on the rooftop of the Aqua Lofts.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My village is filled with so many gurus, teachers and mentors that I have to pay homage to the village! Each one, Teach one!
