We had the good fortune of connecting with CHRIS JOURDAN and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi CHRIS, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was purely out of anger at what I thought I was being overcharged for. When I retired from the Marine Corps in December of 1997, when tax time came around, I thought it would be a great idea to take part in the Rapid Refund program while getting my tax returns completed. Well, after about 20 minutes and more than a $500 bill, I vowed to educate people on taxes, how they work, and the companies in the tax preparation industry that prey on the uneducated to take their hard-earned money. Jourdan Accounting was then born.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Jourdan Enterprises, Inc. is a full-service accounting firm that is available for our clients all year long. The thing that sets us apart from other firms is that we not only provide the services that assist our clients in becoming financially successful, but we go the extra mile to educate our clients and communities on those financial subjects that we weren’t taught.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would shout out to the professors and administration at Asher School of Business, Herzing University, Atlanta Campus, Keller Graduate School of Management, and more specifically to all of my classmates along the way who constantly believed in me as I continued to speak about the importance of our people learning about financial stability and how money works.
