We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Burns and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Atlanta Georgia! I was raised in a diverse community of American and East Asian culture. So anime, and manga, have been apart of my life since I was little! Being exposed to those cultures so young gave me the inspiration I have today to create my stories as well as give back to the many communities that set the foundation for my brand!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well I am a manga artist! I’ve been working on my series Chikara since 2018 and I pride myself on it being the first ever mainstream Christian Manga! I make sure my series is friendly to all ages so that means no foul language, no sexual themes or fan service, and overall just a wholesome story! So far I am most proud of my story gaining 100k views on Manga Plus! I never would have though my story would be seen by that many people so it makes me happy that people are interested in it! I’m not gonna lie getting to where I am wasn’t easy and I have along way to go to reach my goals! Hard work, studying, learning design and animation are just some of the years of work put into my brand and this is only the surface of what I believe is to come. In the end I want to world to know that manga is for everyone and you can create any story you want even if it’s religion based and still impact people’s lives for the better!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well most people know I have a strong dislike for the city here in Georgia. So where I’m from our form of fun is being outdoors hunting, fishing, or traveling to the beach! But if you were to visit Georgia, Atlanta has some cool spots to eat but you just have to keep your wits about you !
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I just want to thank the many fans of the series that have encouraged, gave feedback, and are genuinely excited about the future of the series and brand!
