Meet Chris & Abigail Orr | Autograph Memorabilia Seller

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris & Abigail Orr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris & Abigail, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In early 2023, after an almost two year battle with epilepsy (Abigail), she and I were looking for some opportunities where we could connect. As a high-school volleyball player, she no longer was able to compete in school capacity, so we had to find something. After seeing an autograph event advertised in our local area, we decided to attend with the hopes of taking a few pictures and getting a few things signed. After the event, Abigail and I discussed the possibility of this becoming a hobby. Little did we know if would soon turn into a small-business that would occupy most of our evenings.
To date, we have sold and shipped things all over the United States to fans of both the University of Georgia football team and of the Atlanta Braves

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I (Chris) am a full-time worship pastor in Athens, Georgia at Beech Haven Church. I’ve been serving the congregation here for 4 1/2 years. Prior to coming here, I served in a similar role at a church in Nashville, Tennessee. I’ve been in this line of work for over 20 years and it’s definitely a calling that I believe that the Lord has on my life.
Working in the church is a lot like running a small business – especially with music. There’s so many details that must be addressed on a weekly basis before a Sunday worship service. There’s the daily interaction with people and all that goes along with that.
Whether it’s in the church or at an autograph signing, our goal is to make a positive impact in the lives of people. In some cases, the positive impact comes by helping someone find the perfect autographed item for their husband or child. In other situations, it’s working to help someone feel good about the transaction after they’ve had a bad experience somewhere else

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in Athens has been a lot of fun for a Father and daughter who’ve both been life-long UGA fans. Driving out to Sanford Stadium NEVER GETS OLD! We love to take people out to the bridge (near the west end zone) to look out onto Dooley Field. There’s something about a 92,000 seat stadium that’s so cool to look at. But Athens has so many other interesting parts. Whether it’s walking down Clayton street, eating at Weaver D’s (made famous by the band, REM) or taking in a concert at either the Georgia Theater or The Classic Center, Athens always has something to see and do.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our family DEFINITELY deserves a shoutout! They’ve been the ones who’ve supported this endeavor by sacrificing in multiple ways. Whether it’s been helping us print labels and ship items during the evening OR assisting us at autograph events by running the registration table and taking care of the athletes, they’ve been the glue that’s helped us stay organized and pointed in the right direction
