We had the good fortune of connecting with Chloe W and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chloe, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Whew! Honestly, I was midway through my Bachelors degree in Marketing Management, and worked on a creative content marketing module. We created visual assets, and I thought to bring this to life through graphic design. COVID 19 was a great time to work around putting together a graphic design agency. I made Youtube intros and outros, image based logos, Youtube Banners and more! I was really invested in crafting small designs until I decided to take this entreprenurial journey seriouslys. Alas, CWDesigns Studio was born and here today!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I love about CWDesigns Studio is the unique minimal effort towards my work. It’s clean, apparent, and long-lasting. I’ve always had such a huge emphasis towards clean branding, brand profiling and longevity. This rebrand has earned me a lot of rewards, including working with clients in Africa and South America. Reflecting on this, it hasn’t been an easy ride. I’ve closed down my business almost three years ago under a different alias as I didn’t get a consistent clientele, wasn’t generating enough revenue, and a strong portfolio. I lost my Instagram account of over 1.2k, and got permanetely deleted. I’ve finished the last two months with four figures, have a growing portfolio and a strong clientele.

A lesson I’ve learnt is to never let a setback illustrate your journey. Learn from it. Adapt to it, and walk with it. What happens to your business is for your own good. Have faith in God and everything will fall into place!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the spa! I love hotel getaways, and Kensington is the best place to have a lovely spa day. Including a massage, then lunch or dinner afterwards, that’s a vibe! I also love going out to entertaining places, arcades, virtual gaming places, nice aesthetic restaurants (love food!) and more!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I want to give thanks to God for given me the entrepeneurial gift to carry this business to where it’s at today! I also want to thank my sisters for encouraging me to move forward. They’ve also been my backbone and allowed me to never give up. Also, a huge shout out to my parents for speaking over myself and the creativity that’s been bestowed into me.

Furthermore, to my girlies, Steph, Abi, Rae, Beni, Jennifer – whew, so many of my close friends unmentioned, I love you guys so much! Thank you for your encouragement, prayers, and movement to help me grow my brand design agency.
