We had the good fortune of connecting with Chisom Muruako and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My willful spirit is what separates me. I don’t care about what is achievable and what isn’t achievable. I don’t care about what’s realistic and what’s not. I do what I want and say how I feel and when it comes to my dreams no one is getting in my way. It definitely wasn’t an easy route, it was rather challenging. I overcame my challenges by not giving up and continued to work on my craft until someone noticed. The lessons I learned was there’s always going to be a bunch of no’s but that one yes can lead you to somewhere big. I want the world to know that I’m more than just a model. Rather, I want to represent what it means to overcome adversity and still keep a smile.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is a very diverse city with many things to do, so if it was my friend’s first time coming and they haven’t experienced Atlanta; I would take them to variety of things. On the nightlife scene, I would would take them to the Buckhead Bars to pregame and then we would slide out to the clubs such as Compound, Gold Room, Elleven45, etc. If we are feeling a more chill vibe we would head over to Escobar or Boogalou. I would also take them to Magic City because what is a trip to Atlanta without eating wings from Magic City. I would also take them to Little Five Points, Centennial Olympic Park, Martin Luther King Jr National Historic Site, the High Museum of Art and a few other places to experience different sides of the culture. We would also attend local fashion shows, music events and networking events that were going on during the week.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents are my biggest motivation. From the time I could barely walk to now, they have always supported me through thick and thin. Their journey from Nigeria to the United State has always inspired me! My brothers also drive me to be my best as well. My family as a whole is my main support system. My friends also give me a lot of support. I don’t like having a lot of noise in my life and only like to keep solid people around who will really be there for me and see more than what I really see in myself.
