We had the good fortune of connecting with China Ford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi China, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from a Down South State as they would say little ole Georgia. I grew up in Atlanta,Ga born at Crawford Long at the time but now Midtown Emory.
Growing as young child experienced my family doing many things. It was this one thing that caught my eye though. Our Family business my grandfather had in the 60’s – 80’s Food Restaurants.
I just knew I wanted to continue our legacy and impact others. Cooking to me is therapeutic. Letting close love ones, friends & strangers taste the art you put together. Everytime it warms my heart when I hear compliments. It motivates me to stay on top and continue going hard.
I’m Me!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Business I’ve been working on is my Catering Company. I’ve been working on putting Alexze’s Finest Foods for like 2yrs. It’s slowly but surely coming together. I have been focused on catering Families first to spread the word. When I make plates for people seeing their smiles on their faces is send chills and butterflies to my stomach. I have so many people invested into what I’m doing and I love it. That what keep me motivated and going. I just taking in all the knowledge from my fellow members in the food service and putting them in my notes.
When the business drops Its all love in the Soul Food baby!
Cooking food from my background makes me feel as if I’m still in the kitchen with my Great Grandmother and Grandmother.
Great-Grandmother from Louisiana and coking with nothing but spices and love baaabbyyy. I sooo miss them days.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My BESTFRIEND actually have been talking about these specific places throughout conversations not knowing I was listening. We all stay in the same town. My 1st Bestfriend loves Carrabba’s for the food & martinis, The Fox theater to see comedy shows.
Madison AMC Movies because of the drinks.”Strong”
South lake movies because of the chicken tenders & drinks.
She don’t do the club or the crowd thing so I do things like get together at home or her cousin airbnb for fun & dancing

My other Bestie we like to turn up.
Well first we would go eat at some of the best spots like taste budz or hungry af. Then we would go ride scooters threw the city and site see. Then probably hit up Andretti or fun spot. End the night on Edgewood turning up 🥳😌

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First off I would love to just thank my Family & Friends for just being here to continue motivating me. My mother Larrissa Ford being my judge everytime.
Moniesha Malone & Alexandria Crowe (Hair stylist) for being my super support system.
I would love to thank my High School Culinary Arts Teacher ; Tony Atichison for holding down our organization club FCCLA. It’s was the best 2 yrs I’ve had experiencing leadership amongst my classmates. Mainly my other partner in crime dealing with FCCLA and the Orange Duffle Bag foundation Dedrick Leonard. Love you Brother.
My Mentors Ratreisia Ferguson & Kenethia Zachary keep me head focus on what I needed to focus on. I wanna appreciate you both with all my heart.
Without all the love and encouragement I don’t know where I would be in this day of time.
