We had the good fortune of connecting with Chichi Iwuorie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chichi, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

The first thing that came to my mind was passion. I prefer to lean towards what excites me because that same energy is what fuels me to get started and stay the course. When I started Poetic Vibes Presents, I wanted to provide a space for live shows and creative events. My mind is always thinking, “how can I provide opportunities?” So, that space allowed artist to be seen, to practice, and to build their confidence. Chichi D. Marketing was built around the same concept, to make space for creatives. Within this digital marketing agency, there are so many moving pieces and the one that everyone can see, involves content creation. Overall, Passion, Purpose, and Creation are my 3 elements in the development of any business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

The work I do revolves around producing platforms, businesses, and any creative endeavor I wish to partake in. As an entrepreneur, I like to live a flexible life. Not to say I don’t have boundaries, but I don’t believe that one should be limited to the bountiful opportunities offered in this world. The goal in life is to strive, live, learn, and serve. If I can do all, in my mind, I am winning. Success is what you make it. Happiness is determined by your perspective and how you view circumstances. Was it easy for me to get to where I am now? Oh most definitely not, and I won’t be the one to lie to you, lol. It was tough, dark and painful. Imagine a baby fresh out of the womb, exploring a new world and learning how to crawl. That was my first step on my entrepreneurship journey. Learning how to crawl my way in to my purpose and crawl out of my failed attempts. A lot of trial and errors. Once again, community is key and who you surround yourself with is so important to your growth. My brand is me, Chichi D and the D stands for Determined, Driven, and Dedicated.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It takes a village to raise a child and I will continue to give credit where it is due.

Atlanta’s poetry community was like family. They were my foundation. Especially, Denelle Porche, Daryl Funn, and Ladyvee. So many more to name but those were the main. The fitness community in Atlanta were also apart of my foundation. That includes fitness boutiques CycleBar, Cityrow, and SHRED415. I can’t forget my roots that continue to remind me of the importance of striving and culture. Special Shout out to all my colleagues and family in Nigeria and Houston, TX. Lastly, the program that educated me while I was building Chichi D. Marketing, Generation, I wouldn’t be as successful without their support.
