We had the good fortune of connecting with Cherrón Gardner and Rennie Curran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cherrón Gardner and, how does your business help the community?
The Sports and Business Network’s mission is to create opportunities for connection, collaboration, and empowerment. We do this through our networking mixer where we bring together top business leaders, current and former athletes, influencers, and philantrophist. This is the perfect event for those who are transitioning in their careers, building their personal brand, growing their business, or looking for ways to give back. Our vision for our community is big! There are exciting opportunities currently being developed that will have a major impact on how we connect with each other moving forward.

What should our readers know about your business?
We make networking fun! At an SBN event you walk in as a stranger and leave as part of the family. In between, you’ll hear from a panel of business leaders, take a professional headshot, visit vendor tables and make meaningful connections. We attend every event and make sure we introduce ourselves to you and introduce you to the type of people you’ve come to connect with.

We believe in the power of relationships. We believe in connections and community and we show how much we value these things by creating top tier events.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are way to many good places to name but a weekend in Atlanta must include the following:

1- A rooftop bar, weather pending and/or a swanky speakeasy like The James Room

2- A food hall for lunch and people watching. Two favorites right now are Colony Square and Chattahoochee Food Works

3- Brunch. Don’t ask us to chose a favorite!

4- Live music and/or a dope DJ at any one of Atlanta’s incredible venues

5- A cigar lounge

6- And of course if its football season, a UGA Game since Rennie played there – Go Dawgs!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The Sports and Business Network was established by former NFL professional, Rennie Curran, in partnership with Cherrón Gardner, CMP of The Event Life. Shout out to Rennie for his vision, Cherrón for her partnership and expertise and all of the vendors and attendees who have supported us over the years!
