We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheri Denise and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cheri, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I have the power to change a person or couples vision of their celebration into a dream event that they’ll remember for the rest of their life. Creating a guest experience that stirs up genuine emotions, happiness, sharing with others, laughter and love amongst friends and family is always good for the community as a whole. We focus on making the guest experience exceptional while providing exceptional service. This generates good news and vibes for the young and old. This also generates conversation and excitement. Celebrating small and big wins, weddings, life milestones, birthdays, etc. is always well received. People can and will share positive memories forever.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

Providing quality service to my clients and business relationships keeps me busy daily.  Communication is key in all relationships. It’s most definitely a key factor to your success. To assure that I follow-up with clients, vendor and business colleagues I maintain a schedule of all business appointments, dates to follow-up with clients, vendors and business colleagues. I review this calendar/schedule daily.

Maintaining knowledge and continuing to educate myself in the Event Industry is ongoing and never ends.  There are so many aspects to running a business.  Finances, Marketing and developing your Brand Identity is ongoing. Everytime you open your mouth to speak and present yourself to others is a representation of your brand identity.

You are really alone on the entrpreneurship journey. The most challenging aspect of starting a business is remaining motivated and consistency.

One of the most impactful lessons I have learned is to be myself and stay in my own lane. No one can be better at being you than you. Stay focus. Treat people with respect and dignity. Manage your business with integrity. Remain humble. All of these characteristics are a part of your brand story. Every time you step out of your home you are a respresentation of your brand. Represent it well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Milwaukee offers a lot of activities in the summer. When friends or family visit there are a few spots we must take in. One of my favorite restaurant for steak, Mr. B’s Steakhouse. For cocktails we will go to Elsa’s on the Park. We will have to visit FiServe Forum – Deer District. The home of the NBA Champions, Milwaukee Bucks. Summerfest offers several live performances of well known talent and entertainment. We can reserve a boat and enjoy a day of relaxation on Lake Michigan. Chicago is a short distance away and offers adventure, good food and entertainment. We will be quite busy.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Cheri Denise Events has been fortunate to have the support of a few individuals over the years that have definitely contributed to my success.
