We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Brandy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelsea, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started Pretty Peacock in the beginning of Covid because I lost my job. I worked in a barbershop and when the city shutdown I had to figure out another source of income. Candle making has always been a hobby of mine so I decided to take it serious and voilá.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Candle making has always been something that creates peace within myself. I’m able to slow my mind down and really process any emotions or moods. When I create candles I’m always in a place of pure enjoyment and that’s what I want my customers to feel when they use my product. Joy and peace.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friend was in town, first I’d take them to Flight Lounge Cafe for breakfast. Then a little crystal shopping at The Mustard Seed or Psychic Sister. For snacks we’d definitely hit up Hanas Snowballs and dinner would be Fire on the Mountain wings.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d have to give a shout out to my closest friends and family. Dorothy, Rome and Alyssea. They give me guidance and motivation to never give up.
