We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelse Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chelse, what do you attribute your success to?
Customer service is at the heart of everything I do. I treat each client with the utmost respect and care, ensuring clear and timely communication leading up to their big event. Providing exceptional service is a key reason why my brand continues to thrive.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Brunch at Chelse’s started in my home kitchen right before the pandemic. I had no formal culinary background, and truthfully, I didn’t even cook much before my first catering job. I actually went to school to become a news reporter—I have a B.A. in Journalism and a Master’s in Cybersecurity. But life had other plans. Once I cooked my first large meal and saw the joy it brought, something in me shifted. I fell in love with creating experiences through food.

When I first had the vision for Brunch at Chelse’s, I dreamed of opening a food truck or a restaurant. But I couldn’t come up with the money to fund either one, no matter how hard I tried. So I had to pivot—and that pivot turned out to be a blessing. I started offering custom catering, building relationships event by event, and growing a brand rooted in service, quality, and love. That’s how Brunch at Chelse’s was born.

What sets my business apart is the heart behind it. Every dish is made from love, and every client is treated like family. Whether I’m catering a wedding, hosting a pop-up brunch, or feeding families through my non-profit Chelse Cares, the goal is always the same: to leave people full, happy, and cared for.

It hasn’t been easy. From learning how to price my services to navigating the challenges of running a catering business during COVID, there were moments I wanted to give up. But I leaned into my military discipline, my faith, and my community. I’ve learned to set boundaries, stand firm in my policies, and most importantly—trust the process.

Today, I’m proud of the growth. I’ve served hundreds of events, built partnerships, vended at major festivals, and am expanding into individual packaged meals and new cities. I want the world to know that Brunch at Chelse’s is more than food—it’s a movement. A story of resilience, reinvention, and real connection. I may have started on a path to tell stories through journalism, but now I tell them through flavor, hospitality, and purpose.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely a tricky question because I’ve been in Georgia since I was 9/10 and have been almost everywhere in metro Atlanta so I’m kind of use to everything. I love Suite Lounge one of my favorite brunch places since like forever !

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I went to shoutout my clients who have supported my business over the years and allowing it to thrive the way that it has.
