We had the good fortune of connecting with Che’Keema Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Che’Keema, how do you think about risk?
When I think about risk, I think about being successful. All things that come from success had some type of risk connected to it. All risk aren’t bad risk but at the end of the day you have to risk or sacrifice something to get to the next level. That can be anything between sleep, money, your personal time, or habits. When I was working for someone I risked getting a weekly constantly check to becoming an entrepreneur and depending on others to pay me.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m set apart from others in many ways. Many ways such as the way I care and appreciate my clientele. On Saturdays at my suite I give back to my clients by having wine or mimosas and treats for them to snack on for the remainder of their appointment. Also the technique I use for my loc maintenance for my clients is called root wrap. It’s more safe keeping for the locs. I’m excited about how far I’ve came and how far I will go because even the sky isn’t the limit. I got where I am today by being constant with posting on social media, being a great stylist and letting others know of my business. No nothing in business is easy. Only the strong survive in the entrepreneur world. Being consistent help me overcome a lot of my challenges and wanting to do new things. I want you all to know that I’m so excited to be in this position and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for me and my future team.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I was to take my best friend somewhere to have a good time we will definitely have to go to one of the adult event centers such as Your 3rd spot, Sling shot or even to the lounges such as Red Martini, The Bank, or Eden Lounge.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Starting off I want to thank God for already having my story written and having me just walk in it. I want to thank my mom for always being my prayer warrior and coming through whenever needed. I want to thank Nelson for being there from the very beginning I wouldn’t have got through school without her. Lastly I want to thank my big sister for teaching me the game of doing locs the proper way and welcoming me into her shop to start my new career.
