We had the good fortune of connecting with Chef Orleans and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chef, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Watching Chefs use all of their senses to create art , put a passion within me . So now I am able to put my creative touches on a plate like a canvas . Being able to pull from different cultures and expose the community to new cuisines and deliciousness. SouthernKulture embodies more than just food. Fashion , media , music are also a huge part of this company. We are not your typical chefs . Lol

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
SouthernKulture Presents, inc. is a lifestyle . The main idea is bringing KULTURE from all around the world into the home and hearts of everyone. SouthernKulture embodies culture not just in food but fashion , music , media that is why SouthernKulture is a lifestyle brand not a catering company . We are run by chefs from the south with cultured backgrounds . Through travel we are able to bring those flavors and culture back to the south. Events , shows, merchandise, apparel, seasonings and classes are how we are able to educate the masses . Did you know French toast originated in Rome ? Most people don’t realize that things you see everyday are derived from a different culture and someone put their spin on it ?

Some obstacles we have faced are being misunderstood. The team we started with weren’t able to see the vision clearly and tried to put SouthernKulture in a box , but we are bigger than life .

In this industry it is rare to find Chefs of the same caliber join together without ego or motive. Working for the corporate world it is easy to lose your passion and creativity due to having to follow specs and someone else’s vision . Once we recognized our worth and talent it was easy to step away and start planning how to make the transition smooth.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Atlanta beltline has a lot to offer from a beautiful scenic view , great local eateries and sometimes you can catch live entertainment.

On a Saturday night Embr lounge has a great RNB night. You never know which celeb May pop in a grab the mic . The vibe is great and the ambience is unmatched .

Nouveau bar & grill is a great brunch spot , make sure you get a slice of the bread pudding aka SouthernKulture crack . Yes you can get our bread pudding at Nouveau bar & grill ..

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This may sound a little bias but if it weren’t for my partner Chef Fefi , SouthernKulture presents , inc . May not have come to fruition. SouthernKulture is a dream I had to showcase talented chefs being able to join forces and not in a culinary aspect . Southern KULTURE is food, fashion , music , media and much more . Without egos we were able to come together and create something profound. We started off with others but the foundation ended up strong with just us. Also, our sponsor Revanche cognac has shown so much support from the beginning to now.
