Meet Chase Peterson | Founder / Co-Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chase Peterson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chase, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Gaming is an activity that nearly 70% of Americans enjoy regularly. Atlanta Premier will focus on providing access to marginalized and underrepresented communities by establishing “path to pro” programs at the middle and high school levels, closing the access gap by providing high-speed internet and gaming PCs, and strategic partnerships in Atlanta.

“The pro esports pipeline in Atlanta is broken, and if we ever want to change that, we have to create a more inclusive environment that reflects the diversity of the city’s population,” said Peterson. “We realize that having a pro team is a very small part of what an esports organization can contribute to the community. However, when a team and the organization are in-tune with the city they call home, the possibility for positive impact and connection are vast.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most excited about the work we are doing within the community this year. We have brand partnerships lining up this year aiming to reach all around the city with 1 goal in mind, IMPACT. We want to show the people of Atlanta that gaming isn’t a waste of time and that it can be a powerful force for change in young people’s lives.

The lesson that I think I have had to learn the hard way is that, nothing comes quickly in business. We started this journey in 2018 not knowing what was going to happen in 2020 with the pandemic and not knowing the challenges that would lie ahead. I am grateful for the pandemic though. It allowed us to grow at a more controllable pace and gave us the opportunity to reinforce internal processes and structures.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in the city to hangout would be the battery. Everything you need to enjoy your time in Atlanta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to our community we call the “HomeTeam” that has supported us through everything. You are the driving force behind pushing us to be the best we can be everyday.

Also, I’d like to shoutout the amazingly dedicated creators, players, staff and my business partners, Logan Ewing and Melvin Breeden at Atlanta Premier. Your effort and passion create a contagious environment that I am fortunate enough to work in.
