We had the good fortune of connecting with Charmeka Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charmeka, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I truly wanted to create the space I never had as a wife. I went through so much being a young wife. I wanted to ensure safety so that healing could take place for so many. From there grew love for the heart of women in general. I seen so many hurting and I knew it wasn’t just me after that. I knew then my purpose was to use the all the pain I endured to help the next. My company’s name is The Virtuous Woman and Exhale is our event we take worldwide to help women Heal.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am known to all as the “Idealionaire”. My gift is my literal brain and I take it not lightly. I’m beyond a visionary and sometimes that vision makes me choke lol. Like who in the world is about to do this one God.

I’m where I am because I’ve LIVED. I know it sounds real cliche, but that’s my reality. I’ve been raped, molested, cheated on, betrayed, the insecure girl, the round away girl, the stripper, the military chic, heck the side chic, lol! I’ve LIVED! Healing is a journey I’m forever grateful for. It’s because of all those “girls” I know I am the woman I am today. All that MESS was painful, but it’s because of it I have a MESSAGE. I am ashamed of nothing. I’ve had the 6 bdrm mini mansion and I’ve also been homeless. So no it wasn’t easy getting here. This is why I don’t allow those around me to make excuses. We have choices. What choice will you make concerning you?

I want the world to know I’m a nobody! Literally nothing without God! I’m the most imperfect creature alive! I like most question Him everyday, like “really me”? I’m just as confused as the next sometimes lol. It’s a series out on Netflix and a few other platforms called “The Chosen”, that truly has changed my life and the perception of myself. I came to realize it’s my imperfection He was most attracted to. My brand “Exhale” is for the everyday woman. The woman who feels no one cares or no one is watching. The woman who everyone judges yet knows nothing about. The woman who hides behind her wounds and blamed herself. My brand is my life because it was my life. Exhale literally means to intentionally take a breath. I want to show women that healing has to be an intentional journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend is visiting we are finding all the food halls and wineries lol. We’d start our weekend with Breakfast at Barney’s. Then we would head to Jeju Spa for a day of relaxation. End the night at a beautiful winery. Sunday is all about church, brunch, and day parties full of networking lol.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents Charles and Margaret Harris. They cultivated a star from the womb. I entered every single talent show and pageant. My father was a DJ so I danced on tables at all the parties. Shy wasn’t in my nature from a very early age. My husband comedian Ron Way, who makes it so easy for me to be the Queen all know me to be. Your love is genuine and unwavering. My sons Charkuntae and Za’Camron Robinson whom I will make sure will never have to work for anyone their whole lives. Your mommas greatest accomplishments.
