We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlie Britt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charlie, what inspires you?
I am mostly inspired by the experience of creating new, unique and excellent products and experiences. Whether it is creating a new product like Wine Infused Sriracha Chocolate Coffee or designing an experience for our customers to enjoy uniquely, the inspiration I receive from this creativity is a big part of who I am. With the experience of creating, it brings a whole new meaning to the word change. This change brings a freshness to each and every day, and I find it exhilarating. I love change!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I like to say JumpinGoat Coffee Roasters is like a Mutual Fund in the form of a Coffee Company. We are a bit unique in that we spread our brand across several business models. JumpinGoat has two retail stores, one being a DESTINATION store, JumpinGoat Coffee Roasters & Tasting Room in Cleveland. It sits on seven-and-a-half acres at the base of the majestic Mt. Yonah. Here our customers can experience Coffee, Wine, Mead and many other Georgia Grown products, as well as Live Music Saturdays, and the only dog park in the area. Our original store in Helen is a unique boutique in the historic Nacoochee Village where patrons can sit on the patio overlooking the Chattahoochee River. We have an online web store that has sold one or more bags of Coffee to every state in the U.S. including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Our company has a brisk wholesale division and a fundraising program to assist groups in raising needed funds via Coffee. Rounding out our Brand, we offer in-house fresh roasted single serve pods for that customer who likes convenience. As a Coffee Roaster, we have chosen to roast Fair Trade Organic and Rain Forest Alliance Coffees, the best coffees I can buy. We roast nine different origins of coffee and offer over twenty different flavored and infused coffees. I have to say my love is in creating our infused coffees, like Wine Infused Chocolate or our Bourbon Infused Pecan Coffee. Soon, I will release our new Stout Infused line of Coffees. I am super excited for this release of four new coffees and will include my favorite, a Coconut Stout Infused Coffee. This journey has been over the last 9 years and I must confess it has had it’s moments. I think any business owner has had a few moments along the way. Having a passion and a purpose for what you want to create has been the key for me. The biggest lesson I have learned is to grab and hold on tight to balance. You will need to have at least some balance to go the distance. Owning your own company has many rewards. One of those cherished rewards for me is leaving a legacy. I honestly just love people, They make me light up inside. There is nothing like engaging with a customer and learning from their wisdom.. I have made an attempt to touch peoples lives through a coffee company that I hope is a special experience and a wonderful place for people to embrace.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow! the North Georgia Mountains are a place where there is much to experience. It would be a must to stay at Lucille’s Hill Top Inn. The view is one of the best around and a most delicious breakfast. April the owner is most gracious. My wife and I stay at Lucille’s. It’s a wonderful getaway for us even being local! The area touts some 20 must-visit Wineries. Most have live music on the weekends, and the talent here is most enjoyable. Some of my favorites are Montaluce Winery. They have an excellent restaurant as well. We like The Cottage Winery, Serenity Cellars, and Kaya Vineyards and Winery. Hiking and taking in the waterfalls harbor some great scenery to enjoy. There are too many to choose from. If you like lakes, take a visit to Lake Burton and enjoy the mountains coming to the lakeshore. While you’re there, visit Bleu Canoe restaurant. I love my food, so here are some great choices: Village Tavern for hand tossed pizza, Cowboys and Angles for a nice experience, The Cottage has very good Comfort Food, Clydes on the Square has some great choices for you, too. We like to go to the Two Tire Tavern and take our dogs. It’s a real treat for them. The Helen area is known for the October Fest and we have a Brewery if you like beer. This is also a great place to experience the changing of the leaves. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are two amazing women that have been influences in my. life: My wife Terri, who is a spiritual coach, author and former Miss USA. She taught me to follow my heart which creates passion for what and who you are. And, my Mother Joyce who loved me unconditionally and wholly, She owned a restaurant for 40 years and set a wonderful example of being a successful entrepreneur..
