We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlette English-Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charlette, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was my journey and how it could help someone else. In 2011 we loss our first child. I was 33 weeks pregnant and went into labor the day before my baby shower and he was stillborn. This was the experience that first started my health and wellness journey. My spiritual life, our finances, my mental and physical health were all being challenged at the same time. Through the years, there has been a lot of healing and work done to bring me to where I am today. I wanted a way to combine my love for overall health and wellness, my faith, and my love for fitness under one umbrella. When I loss 55 pounds naturally, as a wife, mother, and full-time employee, I want other women to know that they can do it as well. I know my faith and turning away fear is what kept and continues to keep me focused and on track. Therefore, I operate with faith and no fear. In 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, No Fear Athletics was birthed.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
No Fear Athletics is owned by myself and Shamika King. Our brand is a realistic approach to better health and wellness for busy women and moms. The goal is to get you on a path to achieve overall health and wellness in every component. Not just eating better and exercising but also spiritual, self-care, mental and financial wellness. The other components are often overlooked. The athletic products we offer are strategically chosen to get you more active and help you practice self-care. We have so many other products and services that we will be offering as we continue to grow. The coaching aspect of the business is a vital part of the health and wellness journey. We want to be your accountability partner to help inspire and empower you through this journey and give you the tools to be successful beyond coaching. This is a forever process, not just a few months. Wellness is a marathon, not a sprint. I work as an Assistant Wellness Coordinator for an establishment with 23, 000 employees. My day job is in alignment with No Fear Athletics. To be honest, I never thought that my career/life would go this direction. But my love for it is beyond measure and providing workshops and speaking to groups about wellness is so rewarding. This is not easy, it is very challenging to run this business, work full-time, be a hands on, wife and active mother. Sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day to get it all done. I have learned along the way that time management is key and learning to prioritize. I always say, you can not be everything to everyone and nothing to yourself. My time management includes self-care. After attempting other businesses and failing, I had my doubts about making the effort to do this again. But I stepped out on faith, along with Shamika and we decided to go for it, with no fear. What a great decision! I am proud of the progress that has been made and excited about the future of No Fear. No Fear Athletics is going to impact the world in such an amazing way. Coaching, products, fitness classes, speaking engagements, we look forward to continue to change lives one by one. I want the world to know that realistic, attainable, and achievable health and wellness goals can be reached with patience, consistency, discipline, and a little help from No Fear Athletics!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A week long trip! A dream come true. My best friend Shamika and I are getting an ocean-view room at a hotel on the beach! We are getting massages, facials, and relaxing at the spa. We are eating seafood, soul-food, Caribbean food, just good food. We are also trying healthy spots because we like trying new things. Working out together is a must. We would train at BtB with Mike because he is amazing.

We would take a ride to the Everglades for an Airboat tour or ride down to the Keys and explore because she has never been.

A day trip to the Bahamas sounds like a great fun as well. Overall, the goal is to relax and just enjoy ourselves, no business talk, just have fun before we return to our busy lives.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without my support system, I would not be able to do what I do. I have to say first, I am grateful and give thanks to God. Without him, I would not be here. My amazing supportive husband of 10 1/2 years, Antwan, who always encourages and supports me, no matter what. His endless love and continuous encouragement especially on the tough days keep me going. He balances me and motivates me reminding me that I am enough and good enough. My son, Dylan, “my why” that keeps me on my toes and on my knees in prayer! My mom, who raised me to be humble, loving, and honest. She made a lot of sacrifices during my childhood as a single mom after my father passed when I was a baby. My best friend and business partner Shamika, an amazing friend that always pushes me to step out of my comfort zone. My trainer, Michael Martin with BtB Training, always pushing me to explore different movements and methods of training. There are so many others that have made such an impact in my life and this journey, my family, Spencer, JT,  Denzel, Kelly, Mike, DeAsia to name a few.
