We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlesa Hopkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charlesa, do you have a budget? How do you make lifestyle and spending decisions?
We always have a budget. Budget’s are crucial in projecting the future of the company. It’s always important to know profit/loss in order to avoid overspending. Saint Mantra has definitely helped me be more responsible with my personal spending habits, because at anytime and really all the time I have to be prepared to invest back into SM. Rather it’s buying materials, manufacturing, etc

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Honestly, the way people have gravitated towards Saint Mantra has made me the proudest. It’s confirmation that a brand like ours is needed. Our goal is to influence other’s to subconsciously speak positivity over themselves everyday. And we’ve . succeeded in doing that from day 1 by being consistent, creative, and conscious. Nothing about our process has been easy if anything it has presented many learning experiences. I’d have to say our biggest challenge as of lately is social media due to algorithms constantly changing. But, we know those challenges can be defeated with consistency. Saint Mantra is two sisters that no matter what have learned to see the positive in everything. And that comes from us knowing we are enough. So we want to spread that same sense of worth to other’s. Everyone should know they are powerful, loved, and supported.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Nashville is big on roof tops and brunch , so I’d probably take them downtown to 5th and Broadway. That way they can experience the city all at once…food, music, and entertainment.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d have to give special recognition to my grandmother, Birdie Faye. The name Saint Mantra was inspired by her. She is the epitome of everything I aspire to be throughout my life…full of love , free spirit, reassuring , and magnetically positive. Always. My grandmother makes it her purpose to embed in me that I am a beautiful genius and there’s nothing I cannot do. As a kid and even now she would always say to me “self preservation, first law of nature.” As I got older the more it resonated with me, because I understood sometimes you have to put yourself first to get to where you want to go, and to not feel guilty about it.
