Meet Charles Watt | Production Music Composer & Sound Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Charles Watt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charles, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My time spent working as a freelancer without a central location for people to find me and my work, lead to Vision House Studios being opened.

What should our readers know about your business?
At Vision House Studios we compose production music for use in tv, films, video games, and other digital media. What sets us apart is our attention to detail and open communication with our clients on every project. We treat every project that we take as if the work is for a major Hollywood blockbuster film, and it’s all done remotely. I got where I am today by networking and supporting others on their journey to success through my podcast, collaborations, and helping others get placements. Not easy because I’m an introvert, but thanks to my full sail university family I had a ton of advice on growing my professional network that has paid off. I overcame it by jumping in headfirst without a fear of failing. I learned that the saying “your network can equal your net worth” is so true when it comes to people helping you when they know what you do. I want people to know that mastering your craft is a lifelong mission, so don’t rush the process. And Vision House Studios is here to service audio needs through different stages of any project.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d have to take them out for Thai food from one of my favorite dive spots in Cincinnati. Then we would hit a jazz club for some inspiration before heading back to the studio and our newly added post-production theatre room. for the rest of the week, we’d go for some seafood at Papadeaux and barbeque from Eli’s. As far as attractions go, It would depend on the time of year. We could always drive up to an Ohio State game, catch the Reds, or any of the College basketball games. there’s a lot to choose from if you like sports in the tristate area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife is the backbone of everything you see from Vision House Studios. She is my motivation to wake up and give it 120% every day so, eventually, she won’t have to work at all. Then she can just focus on her health and wellbeing during our later years together. “Honey, I love you more than I could spell out with letters or, play with an instrument. We have supported one another to be the best we can be together as well as individuals for over 15 years so, she gets my biggest shout-out!
