We had the good fortune of connecting with Charlena Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charlena, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I have so many things that I am exploring in the near future but currently I enjoy DJing because music brings people together. Music is a way of connecting and having a great time with people and should promote positivity.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a regular life as far as my career goes working in the customer service field soon to transition back into the government world and I am also extremely passionate about music. I have a DJ business and I am an artist but I also help to manage my boyfriend who is also a very talented artist. What sets me apart from others is that I live a regular real life and have a career that allows me to be of service. I got to where I am today professionally by working extremely hard with no days off and pushing myself to graduate with my degree a few years ago. It was not easy working two jobs and going to school but I am proof that it can be done. I am still working hard towards my goals but I know I am very close to doing everything that I want to do. I also know that I can have and do whatever I put my mind to. I want the world to know that I will always keep it real and I don’t care what opportunities I am presented with I will always remain true to my beliefs and values and refuse to sell my soul for fame. I know that I could’ve been further had I taken any opportunity but refused and preferred an honest living over getting ahead quickly. No matter how tired I get, I feel better when I grind for it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Atlanta and honestly, I don’t get out due to my work life but I can always find great spots without any problem. A perfect day for me is going out to a nice venue with great music, food, and drinks. I have visited so many places so I can hardly keep up but that’s pretty much what I enjoy. Oh, and I can’t forget a good karaoke spot. Georgia has so many great places to visit and has something for everyone.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out my parents, my sister, and my boyfriend who always encourage and support me in whatever I am passionate about whether it was graduating with my Bachelors degree in 2021, singing, my DJ business, or my career moves.
