We had the good fortune of connecting with Charisma Freeman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charisma, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Deciding to live life on my terms free of boundaries. I travel pretty much full-time around the world and I love it. It allows me to live out my dreams of traveling & indulging in other cultures. Teaches my son that there is more to life than the walls of the United States and the American Dream. And makes us all much more well-rounded people.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a statistic. A teenage mom. A single mom. A divorcee. A first-time Master’s Degree Recipient in my family- Nurse Practitioner. And now a real estate investor, digital nomad, and expat. Being a statistic isn’t too bad. As a single mom that travels the world with her son with special needs and a disability almost full time, I have broken down many doors and barriers that have been placed out there for us (wheelchair, crutches, and all). And I think it’s possible for any of us to do the same. When my daughter was in 9th grade my son was diagnosed with a Neurodegenerative Disorder- KIF1A- and I was told this disorder causes you to deteriorate over time. Out of the 200 or so people in the world with this diagnosis (at that time), I noticed the kids seemed to decline starting at age 12- my son was 8. Well at that time, I let my daughter know I would continue to give her the stability she needed and stay put, but once she graduated we were leaving to travel the world. My son could attend school anywhere, but his quality of life was limited and it wouldn’t be spent in the classroom. At that time, I began to recreate myself. Work with employers in which I made more money in less time AND start my real estate journey. Today, I invest in single-family, and multifamily syndications in multiple states and I am actively looking at short-term rentals in Mexico and land purchases in Rwanda.

I teach women to invest passively in real estate from anywhere (your home, the beach, whatever your heart desires) and I offer this through different modalities. My focus is on women because we are underrepresented in the real estate world. A lot of times we worry about the amount of time it will take from our daily life or being the Aggressive Landlord- all things we can work through while building generational wealth through passive income. Now, I won’t say it was easy. I’ve taken my bumps and bruises from an investment that didn’t quite turn out to my liking but I didn’t lose. The education I received was priceless, and I still broke even!!! However, in this industry, you either learn from someone else or you learn through your sweat equity- getting in the trenches and investing your time. What I offer is a shortcut to avoid mistakes and pitfalls.
Courses, Self-paced Classes, Bootcamp, and 1-on-1 Coaching
The Most Popular Courses I offer include:
*4-week Real Estate Bootcamp- taking women through the ABCs of Finding, Evaluating, & Buying their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd property. Since this is a live class, it gives everyone an opportunity to ask questions and discuss live market changes in real-time. It starts again in Jan 2023 for your New Year Resolution
* Masterclass- Automating Property Management Finding & Vetting your 1st Tenant teaches women to manage their properties and vet tenants remotely. This can be done via a live course or Self- Paced Class

The most popular Self- Paced course teaches women to invest in the best-kept secret of the rich & wealthy Understanding & Evaluating Real Estate Syndications- this is truly a set it and forget it way to make money and we really aren’t privy to it in our community. YOU can own a percentage of a storage facility, apartment building, or hotel and possibly DOUBLE your investment in 5 years or less. This is where the wealthy are investing their 401K, while we are letting it sit in the stock market.

These are just a few courses available. I also offer 1-on- 1 coaching for real estate investing, Traveling solo, with kids, or with disabilities for those that would like individualized attention.
And I document my travel journey and real estate investing on my YouTube Channel Charisma Cares Travels the World.

I think it’s important that we live out our life’s mission and enjoy it. That is what I do through my traveling and investing. I’m also lucky enough to share it with the world through YouTube. Even when you think you can’t complete the task at hand you know someone else is out there working on it too and cheering you on. I am your cheerleader!!

A festival at Piedmont Park & a Concert Wherever- Mableton Ampitheater, Wolf Creek (are they opening back up), or State Farm Arena
Karaoke on Sunday at Hammers on Virginia Ave then head to Grown Folks on Old Natl for the 90s/ 2000s hip hop and r&b grown and sexy

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My travel journey started after watching a video of Stephany PerryVaycarious on Youtube. She informed me that a black woman in the medical field can quit her job and travel the world freely and do so on her own terms. I realized I was not alone and I was not insane. Shortly thereafter I attended the 1st Exodus Summit- a meetup of black women that also travel the world. Stephanie became my mentor and coach and informed me that I had a gift for others. I could teach them to do what I’m doing; traveling the world with my son who has a disability & teaching women to invest passively in real estate. She was right!

Kif1A.org is a community of parents that got together and said We are going to fight for a cure for this awful disorder.
Receiving my son’s diagnosis was the worse and best thing that could’ve happened to us. It changed our life’s trajectory and put us in touch with a community of parents and support that I never imagined. Parents like Kathryn & Luke who have taken this organization and made it their life work is outstanding. Having a rare genetic progressive disorder is awful, but having this community is priceless. Kif1a.org is always taking tax-deductible donations to help find us a cure

My mom, Melinda. My rock, my cheerleader, and my news broadcaster- she keeps me up to date on any news going on in whatever country Im visiting at the time, lol. But it is something to be said about having a support system when you live an unorthodox life
