We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanteria Huff and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chanteria, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Atlanta, Georgia born and raised. I was a sweet child really sensitive, always wearing my heart on my sleeve. As a kid I pretty much had everything until my parents split up. Perspectives changed for me at a young age when my dad moved out. I would accept things for what they are but inside it would really hurt me. I never really had the type of family the supported me, more like criticize. Having people around that supposed to love you unconditionally and all they could really do is wish bad and try to compete with each other drains you mentally when all you wanna do is help and love. I was about 16 when everything really made since and I told myself I wouldn’t be anything like them because I want better for myself no matter what. That was also around the time I felt like I had to grow up due to understandings I had and what I felt like I had to do. Sometimes I didn’t get my way cause we couldn’t afford it. I missed my prom, some things that meant the most to me I had to miss out of cause Financial reasons. My anxiety always stood in the way of my full potential. I’m almost 23 and I’m finally living in my potential using things I like to make money for me. Im grateful for how far I’ve come mentally, physically and spiritually.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art are my mink lashes that I provide to beautiful ladies. 100% mink lashes with 3D black bands and reusable up to 10 times with the proper care. My lashes give style and personality, for my ladies who love makeup. Give women the confidence that they are looking for. My art are the paintings that I paint that have a deep root meaning in my life. Working on a face serum that would actually work for melanin skin. Since I could never find something that truly works for my skin. Consistency is the key, being consistent in promoting my brand is what helps. It’s not easy starting from the bottom having to build yourself all the way up on your own. Everything is a process when your trying to put your dream in order. Lessons I learn is you can barley work with family because they try to take advantage, and to invest in yourself, I know I have way more lessons to learn. My brand “Chan’s Essentials” is a brand women where they can help beautify themselves with the products or service I may offer. Overall, I want people to remember that consistency is the key, and support each other cause that’s what’s get us by. Nobody can tell your story but you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you never been to Atlanta and you wanted that Atlanta feel you would definitely have to go down town in the city. Riding the ferris wheel at night time looks so beautiful maybe check out the Aquarium. Horse carriage rides fire hot wings and good drinks. Going to little five points is where you want to go when you want to meet some new fun interesting people. You have to visit sixflages if your a roller coaster fun like me. Going for walks on the trail are peaceful and relaxing if your into meditation. Go to to Lenox mall , go to Atlantic station go see a movie. Atlanta is filled with a variety of things for different people.

Shout out to my mother Chequita Huff. She’s been my biggest fan since I can remember, she always made sure she do what she can. She install a foundation in me that I would forever be grateful for, she gave me life and help me through
